The Treasures & Tastes Market at Holy Trinity, Cnr Union Rd & Montrose St, Surrey Hills is a well established local makers and produce market. It runs on the third Saturday of each month from March to December each year. Being a predominantly indoor market, the weather is the least of your worries, with over 50 stalls of glorious products to browse through.
The next market is on Saturday 15 June 2019 from 9am to 1pm, so make sure you head down early to get the pick of the bunch. Below are other market dates you might like to put in your diary for a lineup of fun, friendly mornings of browsing, shopping, chatting to the stall holders and grabbing yourself a bite to eat and drink.
Future Market Dates all running on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm at the same venue are - 20 Jul, 17 Aug, 21 Sep, 19 Oct, 23 Nov and 21 December for those last minute Christmas presents.
With winter biting at our heels, this market has you covered with its huge range of knitwear, knitted items, quilts and heat packs to help keep the cold at bay. Didn't bring your own sustainable re-useable bags? No worries. The fabulous, and my favourite, Pat's Bags has you covered! Pat has an uncanny knack of choosing some great prints that can go retro, vintage, or funky and modern.
Pat has been making recyclable bags for years, and her prices have not changed an iota. They're still a mere $5 for the shorter handled ones and $7.50 for the longer. I prefer the longer as it keeps me hands-free. These bags carry so much weight, roll up like a pocket rocket and last years, from personal experience. You can't go wrong; and they make great gifts and stocking fillers that are functionally useful and thoughtful, for the festive season.
A lovely variety of goods at the market means you can enjoy fresh produce like honey, olive oil, cakes, bread, fruit and vegetables, wine, home crafts, children's clothing and accessories, candles, pottery and so much more. There's nothing more refreshing than an early morning market run, knowing you are buying from local makers.
Treat yourself to some deliciousness at the Treasures Café - serving cakes, scones, tea and coffee and soup in winter, or you could grab yourself a bacon and egg roll from the courtyard BBQ for something a little more savoury. Head on down and check it out! It may well become your favourite haunt for shopping and its friendly atmosphere.
