Pinjarra Hills artists and husband and wife, Nev and Barbara Logan, are presenting a FREE art exhibition at Richard Randall Art Studio, Mt Coot-tha Gardens from Wednesday 18th of April to Sunday 22nd of April 2018.
Both artists will feature paintings from their travels in Australia and abroad.
Since taking early retirement from his career as an Electrical Engineer in 1987, Nev has travelled around the world, mainly in Europe and the North East of the USA, and captured many renown attractions in stunning watercolour paintings.
Nev describes his style as 'Realist Impressionism' and watercolour paintings inspired by his travels in Europe, USA and Australia will be showcased.
Nev is particularly keen on Italian architecture and a number of paintings of Venice and Florence will also be displayed alongside Brisbane cityscapes, native flowers and portraits.
Barbara is a native of Brisbane where she spent the first 30 years of her life. For the next thirty, she lived in Boston, where she taught Nuclear Medicine Technology and Developmental English at University of Massachusetts System.
In 1999, Nev re-entered her life after a 44-year absence and they married the following year. In 2001, she retired from her position and they returned to live in Australia. Barbara was always interested in sewing and began quilting. She quickly decided that it was the design process and not the quilting which maintained her interest, which led to painting fabric for quilt panels and eventually to a rather unique form of fabric collage, which is utlises acrylic paints on cotton fabric.
Don't miss this exciting exhibition during the autumn school holidays. Entry is FREE and it is a great opportunity to enjoy the Brisbane Botanic Gardens in vibrant Autumn colours.
