Master the art of phone camera travel photography
One of the first rules of travel is to pack light. One way that you can lighten your luggage load is to ditch the SLR or point-and-shoot camera and just travel using your smartphone camera.
Phone cameras have dramatically improved over the past few years. Apple promotes the quality of the iPhone camera with their "Shot on iPhone" campaign. And some Android phones offer superior quality to the iPhone.
But this isn't really a discussion about camera makes or models, but rather recognising that for many of us the camera we reach for first is our phone camera. So if it's the camera you are going to use you may as well invest some time in improving your phone photography skills.
Social Media Photographers is a group that runs phone camera specific training workshops. Their latest workshop has the holiday traveler in their focus. The Travelography Workshop is designed to help you capture lasting holiday memories with your phone camera.
As someone who loves to travel, this workshop really speaks to me. I love having awesome pictures that help me to keep the travel memories alive and that I can also share on Facebook and Instagram. But I hate feeling like I am spending more time behind the camera trying to get a great shot than I am actually enjoying the holiday destination. I did one of the Travelography Workshops and it changed the way I take my holiday and travel photos.
