Imagined yourself travelling the world, visiting exotic places and getting paid for it?
Travel Memoir with Jillian Schedneck is a writer's workshop hosted by Writers SA and aims to set you on the right path. This three hour workshop will help you to understand the dynamics of travel writing, teach you how to tell your story and even how to get published.
Jillian Schedneck is the author of 'Abu Dhabi Days, Abu Dhabi Nights' and the creator of the website 'Writing From Near and Far.' She has been teaching writing courses for ten years in the United States, United Arab Emirates and Australia and has a wealth of information.
Attendees will learn about the genre of travel memoir and techniques for structuring travel memoir essays, begin several travel memoir essays, practice expertly telling travel stories, examine and discuss essays and books and shape travel essays into a longer collection.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, 18 August 2018 between 2pm and 5pm at the Hutt Street Library and costs $115 for non-members of the Writers SA and $77 for members. Information about membership can be found here.
Who knows, this could be the start of a great adventure!
