My Nonna would like this Italiano food
Authentic Marinara

I am Italian and I love (I mean, really love) Italian food. There are very few places that I can say really come close to the kind of delizioso Italian food my Nona made. Trattoria Di Roma is one of the places where I know I can go and have an authentic Italian meal that really does taste like Nona made.

The owner Angelo not only makes the food at Trattoria Di Roma with all the flavour and goodness that is reminiscent of my Calabrese heritage - I think he might just put a bit of love in there too!

Angelo is from Italy: I mean directly from Italy accent and all. He opened his restaurant only recently and has been putting his heart and soul into creating a real Italian experience at Trattoria Di Roma. From the little olive trees out front to the red and white chequered table clothes and most importantly to the amazing food, Angelo has enriched his restaurant with the Italian spirit that carried him all the way to our coastal Christies Beach South Australia.

Amore su un piatt

The menu is like a little trip to Italy and Angelo is more than happy to be your guide. He often has specials and the portion sizes are so big that you can take some home for the next day's lunch and believe me you'll want to.

If you love seafood you will certainly not be disappointed with Trattoria Di Romas' seafood dishes. Angelo grew up in a seaside village in Italy called Tropea and he certainly knows how to prepare seafood. I have had his Sword Fish and Marinara and the tasting plate and I am now faced with the dilemma as to which dish to choose when I go in. I also love the Porchetta, which if you haven't tried before, is another one to have. Angelo has people drive in from outside the area to pick up orders of the Porchetta.

Every time I have gone into the restaurant Angelo has added something new whether it is a new special dish or a new TV for sporting events, Angelo and his family are constantly bringing more for his customers. Birthdays and special dinners for large groups are another option at Trattoria Di Roma and Angelo absolutely puts out the big Italian portions for those events as well.

He has brought his family, and his talent and his love of Italian food and people to this restaurant and you can feel it as you dine there. You can drop in and order some rich take away or you can dine in and enjoy a cosy authentic Italian meal followed by some really great coffee or maybe an affogato if you are like me... So go say hello to Angelo, welcome him to Christies Beach and enjoy a meal that would make my Nona smile.
