Brilliant laugh-out-loud kids entertainment
If you're looking for a family-friendly, upbeat show to see at Fringeworld this year you can't go past Trash Test Dummies. This high energy 60-minute show offers amazing acrobatic feats, circus and performance, all delivered with an endearing and goofy comedic style.

Trash Test Dummies

You'll never look at the humble wheelie bin quite the same way after seeing what three talented performers can dream up. Trash Test Dummies is a mesmerising explosion of colour, music, balls, wheels, bins, hats, sticks, flowers and, of course, trash! It takes real skill to make acrobatics look this easy and it's a delight to watch when delivered with some slapstick humour. I'm not keen to give too much more away about the show because the surprises are all part of the ride.

Excellent physical theatre

If you like taking children to live performances you'll know it's rare to find a show that can hold the attention of a range of ages, let alone for 60 minutes. This show nailed it, with non-stop action to keep pre-schoolers enthralled, along with the right amount of cultural references and daring moves to impress the pre-teens. In fact, it crosses several generations seamlessly, with enough clever references in there for the adults too.

Pleasure Garden at Fringeworld

Audience engagement, both during and after the show, was the icing on the cake and a big thrill for my young co-reviewer. Meet and greet opportunities are priceless and the hallmark of a generous performer. Trash Test Dummies are performing at Fringe World inside the (air-conditioned) Big Top at Woodside Pleasure Gardens, aka Russell Square. With everything you need in one setting, make a balmy summer night of it. Visit the Fringeworld website for tickets.
