The Trash Pack are coming to Luna Park, Melbourne. Yeah. That's right. So if you're looking for a way to entertain your kids on the last weekend of the school holidays, I highly recommend you drop in. If you've got other plans, consider changing them. The Trash Pack Festy-val, complete with gross puns, is the perfect event for everyone.

Now Luna Park is always fun , but on the 5th of October, it's going to be better than usual. There will be some FREE rides, and some that are designed specifically for the day like The Manky Museum, The Trashie Tram Cinema and The Wheelie Cross Ride.

So sign up online here , and then head to Luna Park on Saturday the 5th of October. The day starts bright and early at 9am, and it's worth being one of the first families there as the first thousand attendees will get a free show-bag.

The event only goes until 11am, so you need to take advantage of the free rides and giveaways. For the true Trashie fan there is going to be a world record attempt on the day. If you want to get involved (or your kids do) then dress up as your favourite Trashie, or something gross from your rubbish bin.

Held at Luna Park it will not only be a blast once you get there, it's easy to get to. Found at number 18 Lower Esplanade in St Kilda it's easily accessible by car or public transport.

Personally, I'd recommend public transport, especially since you'll get a weekend ticket for $3.50 each. The most convenient trams are number 96 and 16, both of which will drop you right outside the door. For more information on getting there, including by bus click here and then on 'location'.

Now, while I prefer public transport, not everybody does, especially when you're dragging kids along. if you do decide to drive then metered parking is available close by for around $4.50 per hour or $10.80 all day.

Given that the Trashie Pack Festy-val is free, the day's something of a bargain. Keep up to date with plans for the big day by liking the Trash Pack on Facebook here .
