Slumdog Millionaire was a massive hit and probably hit the market at the perfect time, setting course for films like this to follow suit.

Trash, directed by Stephen Daldry, is based on a story of 3 kids who found something they probably should not have while digging through a rubbish pile in Brazil. What follows is an action-packed and intensely dramatic narrative, in which police hunt for those who came into contact with this unfortunate find.

This is a tear-jerker. The viewer is taken into a depth of terror that one feels that no kid should ever experience. Corruption, theft and intimidation are all keys threaded through the story line.

This film has superb cast, headlined by Martin Sheen and Rooney Mara. The boys are played by Stepan Nercessian, Rickson Teves and Eduardo Luis. Hopefully this movie will fast track them in the acting arena!

I give this move 4 out of 5.
