I love the buzz that comes with a big city, my city is Melbourne, Australia and I want to introduce you to some of the "Glam City Events" we love to enjoy as Melbournians of all ages..Come discover with me..

Amongst many things I love about being a Melburnian, is rain or shine, weather is never an issue for a good market or event on a lazy Sunday.

At the gateway of the Yarra Valley, we saw early risers of both stall holders and shoppers prepare for the first day of the new Trash 2 Treasure Market at the historic Lilydale Railway Station Carpark.

No one was as excited as the hard working Natalie and her father Tony taking care of the operations on the day, a brilliant team which pulled off a wonderful event supported by family and friends.

At 10am we saw the orange ribbon official opening of the market by Christine Fyffe our local MP , as well a visit from Councillor Terry Avery of Yarra Ranges Melba Ward.

Entertainment kicked off with Luke Tylim of Melbourne electro rock band Ziah Ziam, sponsored by Glam City Events Australia, with balloons for the kids and photo opportunities.

The market saw some 50 stalls from bric brac to vintage to new special purchases. There was also some delicious hamper stalls with jams, eggs and cakes. For the green thumb, there was an abundance of beautiful blooms, plants and fruit trees, all ready for planting.

The public were most gracious and supportive of the gate donation to Save The Children Australia.

A day well received, thanks to the organisers giving Lilydale back some lift and something to look forward to in the heart of town.

The market will continue every Sunday, which can only draw more crowds as we head into the sunshine and festive season.

I wish you all the best for your new weekend market !!
I've just finished reading about it all on "Weekend Notes"..however by the time I finished reading, I was a bit confused by the map displaying Bacchus Marsh as the location ..also the "Where" address as 99 Main St Melbourne !!!
So I thought I should let you know !!..just incase you hadn't been aware.
Best of luck
