If you are holidaying down on the Fleurieu Peninsula these summer school holidays, here is an event for you and all the family to enjoy.
The Historic Motor Vehicles Club will be holding a Toy and Collectables Fair at Victor Harbor on Saturday the 3rd of January at their Clubrooms in town. It is billed as a buy, sell, swap or exchange, so take your toys or old collectables to the event and you may be able to do some dealing with the other site holders. There will also be free valuations available if you have an enquiry about an old toy or curio you own.
Old toys and unusual items from the past are becoming more sought after, as we have so much plastic and disposable toys in today's society. Also people like to see how children played in the olden days. Children are fascinated by the things children used to play with.
Stall holders at the event will include collectors and sellers of a wide variety of old and new toys, including old tin toys, trains, steam engines, dolls, bears, collectable cars and trucks, such as Dinky, and much more.
Old teddy bears are a sought after collectable toy and very popular. One site holder is coming to sell her collection of teddy bears, so there are sure to be some special little bears needing a new home.
This will be a good event to take the family to if you are in the area on holidays, or if you are a mad keen collector of toys and interesting things travel down to Victor Harbor for the day. Refreshments will be available and also a barbeque for lunch, so you could easily spend a few hours their having a chat to the collectors about their wares and finding something special to add to your collection.
