Prepare yourselves for a spectacular night
This was my second trip to Alice Springs and I could not have been happier to be back, more so during the festive season of Christmas!
The Christmas Carnival is an annual event that involves a collaboration between the Todd Mall markets with the fantastic ceremony of lighting the local Christmas tree, which is set up on the Town Council lawns.

The already radiant-looking Todd Mall was transformed into an area where there was something for everyone. From chocolates and lollies to clothing and jewelry to food from different cultures, this event guaranteed a fun night for all.
In addition to the stalls offering a multitude of items for sale at attractive prices, this event also presented with music from a variety of artists - local and international - to assure that the kids (and some adults) busted some moves by the lawns with hula hoops (or without any props - as desired)! It was a good feeling to have the music playing in the background and really captured the true essence of 'being at the markets' in the best way possible.
There was a sense of Christmas everywhere you went- from the stalls, the overall ambience, the clothing styles...or maybe it was the elves who skated around the markets. I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was exactly, but what I can say is that it made this day all the more enjoyable!
As you made your way down the markets, you'd be in for a treat when you reach the Council lawns by seeing the Christmas tree lit in all its glory. There were musicians in the background who played Christmas carols, along with the fireworks that provided a beautiful and awe-inspiring experience in the backdrop. The Christmas tree looked absolutely stunning and it was even better to watch with kids around.
After the Christmas lighting ceremony had taken place, you could see an influx of families that filled up the Markets quickly and took advantage of the delicious food stalls that were scattered all along the Todd Mall.
