I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.

Town Beach Reserve is the patch of land found between Town Beach and Hastings River. It provides visitors with lots of different activities to do and is particularly good for those periods when you just want a break from the water.
The facilities at the reserve include an outdoor gym with various exercise stations and quite a large playground. A skate park means teenagers can enjoy themselves here and there are tables and plenty of seats where you can watch your kids roam around or enjoy the beach scene.

One particularly colourful attraction at the park is the painted rocks that make up the breakwall along the side of Hastings River. There are a lot of great works to look at and it's a tradition for visitors to Port Macquarie to add their own. While most of the prime rocks have been taken, compared to the V-Wall up north at NambuccaHeads, you still have a good chance of finding somewhere to add your own touch if you want to.
Exploring the rocks was a great morning activity
I think Town Beach Reserve is a great space. It's a convenient and central place for locals looking for somewhere to spend the day, but it also has features that people from further afar will enjoy too, like the rocks and the proximity to campsites and accommodation nextdoor at Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park.
