I must admit when I was first taken to
Tongue Thai'd I was expecting to step out onto Gougar Street, which is sort of default when it comes to Asian here in Adelaide. However much to my surprise, I got out of the car only to be exposed with the sound and vision of Henley Beach Road.
This restaurant is always busy and of a substantial size, with three distinctive meal areas: A large front room, a small back room, and a courtyard. The decor is on trend with a distinctive Buddha theme throughout the premiss.
In terms of food be sure to expect some of the best Thai food Adelaide has to offer. I can gladly devour their flavorsome selections any given day of the week and always manage to eat more than I should probably be allowed to consume. It will definitely live up to its name in this sense.
A few words of advice for your order: include the eggplant dish and the mango chicken yellow curry (check the specials menu). The latter especially is heavenly refreshing, in particularly in the height of an Australian Summer. Needless to say there are many, many dishes applicable come the cold winters. These include the Thai beef salad, red beef curry, and the shrimp-less Pad-Thai.
Lastly, some words from the Dalai Lama, which were conveniently written on the wall behind my table, entitled instructions for life:
"Take into account that great love and great achievement includes great risk."
Prepare to be amazed.
