What little boy or girl doesn't love a truck? My three year old insists we stand outside and wait for the truck every garbage day. He watches in awe as the bin is lifted up and emptied and the truck moves on to the next house. We have to stay outside until the truck is out of sight and if he hears it loop back around we have to run outside to see it again.
This is the perfect opportunity for children and families to get close to vehicles they see working in their community on a daily basis.
Approximately 30 trucks and vehicles will be on display including a garbage truck, car loader, cherry picker, chipper truck, excavator, grader, and street sweeper.
This event is free and interactive meaning children can sit in the cabins, honk the horns and climb into large construction equipment.
A jumping castle, face painting and stalls on waste education and sustainability will also be part of this event as well as the opportunity to meet some of the people who drive the equipment and ask them questions.
Touch a Truck will run from 10am to 2pm in the Colonnades Shopping Centre carpark at Noarlunga. Enter at the intersection of Goldsmith Drive and Honeypot Road (at the Aldi entrance).
