Toscani's Riverside Quarter Restaurant is definitely a restaurant that you should put on your 'to visit' list. Of all the restaurants that I have visited with my 'Group On' this one has to be the best yet. This could be down to the excellent view of the river that the dinner has whilst dining, it could be the high professionality of the serving staff, perhaps the ease of finding the restaurant and the abundance of parking or even the high quality of the food at the restaurant - no come to think of it - it is combination of all these factors in one restaurant.
The restaurant prefers diners to make reservations, but had absolutely no problem accommodating my wife and I turning up some half an hour early. I was impressed with the menu that was prepared for 'Group On' customers - it left no doubt as to what was available as part of the deal and made the choices of starters and mains easy to choose from. This I thought was very professional. I particularly liked the way that my request for the waiter to choose a beer for me didn't phase him and he promptly returned with a lager that suited my tastes.
The courses of food arrived in timely fashion throughout the meal. Each time it was well presented and freshly prepared. This along with being cooked to perfection led to a very fine dining experience. The food is reasonably priced.
Toscani's Riverside Quarter Restaurant is within easy walking distance of the the central business district, but also benefits from easy access via the city cat and bus services. Car parking is within 3-5 minutes walking at the Riverside Centre Car park.
Unfortunately our Groupon visit to Toscani's restaurant was not such a success. It was my son's first visit to Brisbane & I wanted to take him out for a nice meal on his first night here. We both ordered a fish starter & a steak main. The main came before the starter so we sent it back. The starter arrived a short while later, piping hot & was very good. Before I had actually finished eating my starter the mains reappeared, obviously the same mains that we had turned away about 15 minutes earlier. The gravy had congealed on the cold steak & the chips were cold & soggy. A memorable meal indeed but not in the way I had hoped. I didn't like to send it back as I was conscious that they were probably making little profit out of us as we were using a voucher, even though we had ordered wine & beer, so we ate it but will not be returning to Toscani's!
