Nestled in the beautiful Torrens Valley, Tony Hannaford's flagship orchard produces a broad range of cherries including the Earlise, Simone, Lapin and Skeena varieties. He also grows a number of different cherry varieties at his Barmera orchard to ensure a longer ripening season throughout the summer months. Besides export and wholesale, shed door sales are available to keen individuals who just can't get enough of these gorgeous fruits.

I recently visited the packing shed in Gumeracha and was very happy with my purchase. The cherries were indeed sweet and succulent, not to mention fresh. I bought the medium-sized cherries, but large and extra large were on sale as well if that's what you prefer. To ensure availability, you can always contact them via phone at 8389 1405, email [email protected] or Facebook before making the hour-long journey from Adelaide.

When I was there, I noticed that some jams and biscuits were available for sale too. Hence, needless to say, a bottle of cherry jam came home with me that day. For those interested in technology, you can actually catch a glimpse of what is happening in the packing shed while purchasing your cherries. I was rather captivated by the momentum of the packing line itself.

is open every day during cherry season (typically from November to January) and can be found on Winton Road in Gumeracha. For more information, please head to their website at tvocherries.com .
