How does one usually spend a weekend? Have you ever just gone out without planning anything? With just one goal in mind, you walk around and select a random place based on a glance. Well, I have. My goal (as always): Food.

Around Darling Harbour is a myriad of cafes and restaurants, giving one a wide selection to choose from. Having never tried any of them, we had no clue as to where to go. Walking around the harbour, past the Hard Rock Cafe and along the row of small cafes and restaurants, we select a random one. . A cosy exterior and equally cosy looking interior greets us. Perfect for a romantic night out or just to hang out with friends. Or even to have a beer and some food on one's own. Opting to sit outside beside one of the heaters, we were able to enjoy and appreciate the view of Darling Harbour as the sun set and night enveloped the city.

Following its name, we were presented with an array of Spanish food on the menu. However, there are other options here and there such as Fish and Chips (an Australian must), Steak Sandwiches and many more. For $16 one even has the option of a Duck Pizza. A pizza with the topping of roasted duck, red peppers and caramelized onions. A first in my book.

Deciding to stick to something slightly safer to our tastes, we bypass the main meals and settle on a set menu called the Fiesta Menu ($42 per person). A 7 course seafood and vegetarian tapas that promises olives, bread, cheese, potato, calamari, mushrooms and prawns. Not a by-the-book dinner but it IS a random, unplanned dinner so we go with it. Beers are ordered to go with our tapas course. In 10 minutes the first course arrived. Toros marinated olives and bread. Fresh, toasted bread with salty olives. A good way to start off any meal in my opinion.

Right in front of Toros is a mini ampitheatre. That night we had the chance of enjoying our meal while listening to a selection of songs being performed live.

The service at Toros is quick and efficient. As soon as our plates are clean, they are cleared and the next course is brought out. And it goes on for the next few courses. While the calamari may have been a little too oily for my taste, I enjoyed the food. The sherry marinated button mushrooms were juicy and mouth-watering.

After the 7 course tapas, we decided on the Soup of the Day ($9) and some Caesar Salad ($15). While the bread for the soup was not for us (different from the bread served during our tapas course), the soup was hot and creamy.

With a little more room, we opted for some Hot Chocolate Fondant ($11) to finish off our meal. Something that all chocolate lovers should not miss, it definitely did not disappoint with its crusty outer layer and gooey insides.

From Smoked Salmon to Baked Eggs to the traditional Pancake Stack, Toros also offers an interesting selection on their breakfast menu which I am sure I will be back to try out. Adding variety to their menu, they also give customers the choice of 'building' their own breakfast with the Toros Build Your Own Breakfast. Here, customers are given the choice of a selection of foods to mix and match on a plate according to their tastes.
