Winter school holidays are fast approaching and you'll soon be scratching your head trying to think of things to do with the youngsters when it's wet & wild outside.
Here are 10 great winter-warmer activities to consider.
Scienceworks

Scienceworks are all about electricity.
Let the kids spark their curiosity with events like The Spark-tacular Electricity Show, Power of Love and Scrappy Circuits plus daily shows at both the Planetarium and the Lightning Room.
Entry to Scienceworks only costs Adults $15, Concession and Children Under 16 years are FREE. Entry to the Planetarium or Lightning Room costs an additional $8.
Scienceworks is open 7-days from 10 AM to 4.30 PM.

**ARTVO
Where: 26 Star Crescent, Level 1, Harbour Town, Docklands
When: Open 7-days 10 AM to 6 PM**
ARTVO is the first interactive 'trick art' gallery of its type in Australia with visitors encouraged to become part of the artwork, photographing themselves, friends & family and creating a unique variation on the original.
Comprising 100 3D artworks in 11 themed zones each photo point identifies the appropriate camera orientation, horizontal or vertical, plus the best stance for the photographer to adopt. This it's all about the model or models interacting with the scene.
It's fun, fun, fun and some of the photos are amazing reproductions of 'immersive art'.

Clip 'n Climb
Indoor climbing complex Clip 'N Climb is now available at
Berwick ,

Centres comprise climbing activities, caving obstacles and optional add-ons all requiring different skills and levels of agility. Climbers are challenged both physically and mentally but the varying degrees of difficulty for the different activities mean that it really is suitable for people of all ages.
The emphasis at Clip 'N Climb is on fun and safety. Every climbing session is preceded by a safety briefing, all climbing apparatus is equipped with the TRUEBLUE auto belaying system, climbers under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult to check their harness connection before each climb and all climbing sessions are supervised by fully trained staff.

**National Sports Museum

**Glow Golf
Where: Star Crescent, Level 1, Harbour Town, Docklands

Glowgolf is Australia's first glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course. Players putt their way around a selection of Australian icons with 10-holes played under special UV lighting and an 18th hole that electronically generates each players score.

**State Library – Story Camp
When: Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd July
Where: Wheeler Centre, 176 Little Lonsdale Street**
Story Camp is a 3-day workshop aimed at youngsters aged 12 59 15 years.
Participants will explore the craft of storytelling guided by professional authors and poets, build creative skills and confidence and find out what a professional writing career might look like.
There's a catch though. Students will need to attend a school that has a value below 1000 on the Index of Community Socio-educational advantage (ICSEA).

**Shadow Puppets Workshop

Shadow Puppets Workshop program is run by the City of Moonee Valley kids are assisted in creating their own shadow puppet and then guided through performance techniques to get the most out of their creation.
Workshops will run at:
Bowes Avenue Community Hall on Tuesday 9th July.
The Clocktower Centre on Wednesday 10th July.
Burley Griffin Community Centre on Thursday 11th July.
Flemington Community Centre on Friday 12th July.
All sessions commence at 11 AM.
Workshops are suitable for children aged 7 years and older.

**Roola Boola Childrens Arts Festival
When: Tuesday 2nd to Friday 10th July**
Roola Boola Childrens Arts Festival is run by the city of Stonnington is full of performances, workshops and activities all aimed at stimulating children's imagination.
Fifteen great events include NICA Circus Workshops for ages 1 to 4, 5 to 7 and 7 to 12, the Roola Boola Magic Class, Robotic Dance Workshop, Music and Movement and the Neon Forest to name just a few.

Youngsters can direct their own road safety TV commercial using state-of-the-art technology at the TAC's new Road to Zero Education Complex at

Sessions run from 11 Am to 3 PM daily from Monday 1st to Saturday 6th July, Monday 8th to Friday 12th July and on Sunday 14th July.
