The list below features a list of Top 9 Waterfall Walks across New South Wales.

These spectacular walks take you through some of the most breathtaking walking experiences that New South Wales has on offer from temperate rainforests to lush bushlands.

There is a walk suited for all fitness levels, experiences and nature interests with the list below:

1. The Falls Walk
Where: Budderoo National Park, Minnamurra Falls Rd, Minnamurra.
When: All year round: 9am-5pm
Details: Start at the Minnamurra Rainforest and make your way through some the magical rainforest keeping your eyes out for lyre birds and other wildlife. The walk takes you to the waterfall and canyon passing through stunning views, several viewing platforms, boardwalks, trickling streams, moss-covered rocks and bridges.
Walk Grade: 4.2km return, 1-2hrs, Grade 4: Clearly signed posts, very steep at times with occasional steps and formed track.

2. Lawson Circuit
Where: Honour Ave, Lawson
When: All year round
Details: This 3km walk passes through four breathtaking different waterfalls and swimming holes. Adelina Falls, the sand-lined Federal Falls, Cataract Falls and Junction Falls with its amphitheatre of cascading water. This historic walking circuit is an absolute must for waterfall enthusiasts.
Walk Grade: 3km, 1-2 hours, medium with stairs, deep steeps-inclines, slippery at swimming holes- do take care, unpaved paths. Click here for my article.



3. Kelly's Falls
Where: Garawarra State Conservation Area, Lawrence Hargrave Drive
When: All year round
Details: Discover a network of walking trails that lead to cascading waterfalls and breathtaking lookouts offering views of surrounding bushland, mountains and waterfalls. Be amazed by the relaxing atmosphere with the waterfalls cascading over the rocks and dropping into a pool. The walks lead to four scenic lookouts with rainforest-lined gullies below. The walking tracks are also perfect for birdwatchers as you will not be disappointed with satin bowerbirds, honeyeaters and wattle birds calling this place home.

4. Leura Cascades
Where: Leura Falls Creek, Leura
When: All year round
Details: This scenic and breathtaking waterfall walk will take you through the spectacular waterfall. This short and easy lovely walk also offers great views of the cliff line and mountains as the circuit track leads you back to the park. Glimpses of light filter through the canopy of the rainforest offering a magical walk with the sounds of cascading waters.

5. Gloucester Falls Walking Track
Where: Barrington Tops National park, Gloucester Tops Rd, Barrington Tops
When: All year round
Details: This short and easy walk offers stunning waterfall views, scenic lookouts and plenty of birdwatching opportunities. The lush sub-alpine forest offers a lovely walk with breathtaking views. The track leads to the multilevel water cascade.
Walk Grade: 1.5km loop, 1-2 hours, grade 3 with clear sign posts, short steep hills and occasional steps. Some bushwalking experience is recommended. Click here for my article.



6. Fitzroy Falls
Where: 1301 Nowra Rd, Fitzroy Falls
When: All year round: 9am-5pm
Details: This is a must visit walking experience. The forest bushwalk leads to the magnificent waterfall which plunges over 80 metres. There are many walks to enjoy from short wheelchair-accessible boardwalks to unpaved bushwalks. Enjoy the many lookouts offering views of mountains, valleys and waterfalls. Take the track leading you alongside the creek to the top of the falls or take some of the trails along the escarpment. There is a $4 per vehicle, per day fee.

7. Carrington Falls
Where: Budderoo National Park, Jamberoo Mountain Rd, Robertson
When: All year round
Details: This waterfall walk is one of the most beautiful in the Southern Highlands. Consisting of amazing cascades, waterholes, rock pools and the Kangaroo River plunging 50 metres to the gully below. The walk offers spectacular views, lookouts and a chance to walk on top of the waterfall taking a dip at its waterholes. There are other walking tracks which offer awe-inspiring views and glimpses of the waterfall to enjoy too.
Walk Grade: Loop walk, 25 minutes, two paths wheelchair accessible and the full track to the waterhole which consists of stairs and slight uneven paths. Click here for my article.



8. Wentworth Falls
Where: Blue Mountains National Park, Falls Rd, Wentworth Falls
When: All year round.
Details: Situated in the spectacular Blue Mountains, this amazing waterfall walk takes you on a journey offering stunning views, picturesque glimpses of the falls. The waterfall plunges 297 metres over the upper and lower falls into a large pool before flowing down the creek into the Valley of the Waters. There are many walking tracks to undertake ranging from short 10 minutes to day tracks.
Walk Grade: 1.4km, 45minutes- 1 hour, return walk, Grade 3 with short but steep paths, many steps with some obstacles and formed track. Click here for website.


9. Somersby Falls
Where: Brisbane Water National Park, Somersby Falls Rd, Somersby
When: All year round: 9am-8pm
Details: This is a spectacular lush rainforest walk which offers an enjoyable nature walk with tall trees, floods of creek, lookouts and views of the top and bottom of the waterfalls. There is a $8 per vehicle, per day fee.
