Vegan can be so tasty and although I am not a vegan or a vegetarian, I really enjoy a well cooked vegan meal which can be just as tasty as a non-vegan meal. This list offers a variety of events to try the vegan lifestyle.

[b] 1. JANUARY VEGAN MARKETS[/b]
These vegan markets will be held on Sunday, 20th January 2019, from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm at the Sydney Vegan Market, Entertainment Quarter, 122 Lang Rd, Moore Park.

These markets are free entry and there will be over 100 vegan stalls for you to peruse. You'll find some great food, produce, beverage, homewares, fashion, art, cosmetics, skincare and education. Everything is plant based, cruelty-free and vegan, so there is no need to check labels and ingredients!

There will also be artists and musicians throughout the day to keep you entertained and free yoga and pilates, face painting, children's arts and craft and more!

[b]2. FREE VEGAN COOKING CLASS[/b]
Are you familiar with the saying [i]"there is no such thing as a free lunch"[/i]? Well, in this case, there is such a thing... this vegan cooking class is FREE, so make sure you come and see what veganism is all about. It will be on 27th January from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Secret Creek Cafe and Restaurant, 35 Crane Road, Lithgow.

The January class is already full, however, they will be running the classes again, so keep checking at this site to book for the next one - this will give you more time to plan also!

[b]3. VEGAN SLEEPOVER[/b]
This event has been on before and many people asked to make it a longer event, so this is exactly what organisers did. It will now be on for four days and three night of vegan fun, where you will laugh and also learn. Good news is you can also bring your dog on a lead to this event.

There will be exciting workshops, entertainment, games and a new venue. From cooking demonstrations, boot camps and activist talks to zero-waste talks, live music and yummy food stalls, this is an event you do not want to miss!

There will also be sanctuary tours as well as animal meet and greets where you can learn their history. Half the money raised from the event will be going to the Sydney Animal Rights Activism scene.

This will be held on 25th to 28th January, from 12 noon till 11.00 pm at Windellama in the Southern Tablelands.

[b]4. RAISING THE BAR CHOCOLATE WORKSHOP[/b]
This will be put on by Hands on Chocolate and here you will make your own unique and organic chocolate. After making this, you will never want to eat shop chocolate again! The workshop will be fun, is for beginners as well as more experienced chocolate makers and led by a professional lover of chocolate and chef.

This is a two-hour course of making and eating delicious chocolate and you can take home anything you make. It will be on several dates including 9th February and the cost is just $69. It will be held at Hands on Chocolate, 113 George Street, Windsor, from 3 pm to 5 pm. You can make your booking here.



[b]5. JAM, MARMALADE & CANNED FRUIT[/b]
This will be held on 3rd February from 9 am to 12 noon at the Cornersmith in Marrickville. The cost will be $170 and you can make a booking here.

If you are a sweet tooth like I am, this workshop is ideal for you. It will be taken by Alex Elliott Howery, who is the co-owner of Cornersmith. You will learn to make your own jam, marmalade and canned fruit. This will be a great course without preservatives and nasties in it and you will learn the basics of sweet preserving.

[b]6. VEGAN CAKE DECORATING BASICS COOKING CLASS[/b]
Cake decorating can be such a delightful art, though it is not always easy. Here you will learn the basics which will give you a good insight into this fine art of decorating. It will be on 9th February, from 11 am to 3 pm at Maker Kitchen, 552 Parramatta Road, Petersham. Learn the basics of cake decorating with a plant-based twist – and take home your own masterpiece!

It is a 4-hour hands-on workshop, where you will be shown the basics of buttercream, how to make a white chocolate ganache with vegan ingredients and how to arrange your toppings.

[b]7. THE GREEN LION - VALENTINES DINNER FOR 2[/b]
It is almost that time of year again and you will have to book early to get into this Valentine's Day dinner. Held on 14th February from 6 pm to 9 pm the address is 726 Darling Street, Rozelle. The cost will be $130 for two people and you can book here.

First off will be a bottle of Raw Vine estate champagne and a cheese board with Australia's best vegan cheeses and vegan caviar for this special event. The main course will be your choice of any meal from the regular menu and for dessert, you will have chocolate mousse, chocolate dipped strawberries and freshly whipped coconut cream.



[b]8. MATCHA LOVER'S HIGH TEA[/b]
This will be a high tea and cooking lesson all in one. It will be on 16th February, from 1 pm to 3.30 pm at the Loft and Earth, 70 Bronte Road, Bondi Junction. The cost will be $150 and you can book your place here.

You will learn to make and taste matcha in different ways, enabling you to use it every day to either lose weight or just improve your health! You will learn to make snacks, sweets, matcha drinks, and savoury food.



[b]9. VEGAN SEASONAL COOKING[/b]
This course is a [i]"basics and beyond"[/i] lesson and you will learn the techniques and essential ingredients used in vegan cooking and leave with all you need to know to make a sensational plant-based dinner party. This will include an entree, main and a yummy dessert!

It will be held on Wednesday 20th February, from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm with an inner west venue to be confirmed. The cost will be $150 and you can read more and book at this link.
