When a friend of mine recently asked me to join their Trivia Night group, I thought "Why not?" Trivia has never been one of my strong points, but when I went to the first night I was surprised by how many random pieces of information that had been lurking in the recesses of my brain for decades, just waiting for an opportunity to squeeze their way out. As well as making me feel surprisingly knowledgeable (well, on the first week anyway!), it was also a fun way to catch up with friends, have something to eat and possibly win some prizes. Around Canberra, it is particularly popular in winter as a way to be social, but to also go somewhere warm and have a cosy night in. The Trivia Nights listed below are the ones that I have found advertised, however, if you have a favourite not mentioned, please leave a comment at the bottom of this article. Where is your local?

Did you find a night that suits you - preferably close to home? If you have never done it before and need to put a group of friends together, the big question is - what will be your team name? Will it be something that relates to your jobs, a combination of names or something funny that means something to those in the group? Whatever it is, it is the start of something fun that you will look forward to each week. Good luck!
