Tossing n turning night after night?
Trouble sleeping?

Do you fall asleep only to awaken a bit later? Or do you toss and turn for hours cursing the quiet black night?

to sleep or not to sleep... that is the question

Here's my 10 tips for a top nights sleep!

1. Brew a cup of herbal tea at least 30 minutes before you retire for bed - chamomile, hops, valerian - there's lots to choose from.

2. Take a herbal sleeping tablet, there's several varieties at chemists and health shops (sometimes the tea is enough).

3. Turn the TV off at least 15 minutes before bed (begin to see bedtime as a routine).

4. Write down any thoughts on a 'to do' list, or a journal so that when you go to bed you don't have niggling things on your mind.

Jot down those pesky thoughts

5. Go to the nearest window, mentally relax and take a couple of slow deep breaths.

6. Place a glass of water and herbal sleepy tablets beside your bed just in case you need another one later.

7. A bath is a luxury which totally helps you to relax, otherwise, shower just before bed.

Bath time!
shower, bathe, relax, let go...

8. Swap a massage, even a 5 minute one can give you amazing benefits.

Foot Rub
Massage always works a treat

9. Put a meditation CD or relaxing 'nature' music on, just as your hopping into bed.

10. Seriously, if your still having trouble sleeping after trying the above steps, you need to see a doctor. There could be deep seated issues that are keeping you from sleeping .

We all experience lack of sleep from time to time and worry / stress are sure fired 'express' way to sleeplessness. So, you may need to take some time out.

Choose a friend you can talk to or take a walk with, spend a night in a chalet in the forest, sit by a log fire, walk along the beach on a full moon evening, or even on a bright sunny day ....

A serene beach
Serenity is the key
