Your guide to the best of Sunbury
Sunbury is 42 kilometres north-west of the city. It is an increasingly diverse suburb which is close to manufacturing and transport hubs with a growing retail precinct and parklands. There's a historic house, park, cafe, vineyard, and a restaurant, so you can plan out your day in Sunbury
A stunning Vineyard Pitruzzello Estate is at 25 Deverall Road in Sunbury. There is an Olive Grove, Vineyard, and Restaurant. The Cafe and Cellar Door are open Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 5pm. The restaurant is open 10am to 3pm on those days, and Friday and Saturday for dinner from 6pm to 9pm.
Rupertswood (at 3 Macedon Street Sunbury) is a mansion and country estate listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. Rupertswood is considered the birthplace of the Ashes trophy. In 1882, the Clarkes hosted the touring English team, and Lady Janet Clarke presented an urn to the victorious English captain.

The Spotted Owl Cafe in Sunbury is at 93 O'Shanassy Street. They are open 7am to 3.30pm, and serve delicious breakfasts, lunch, cold drinks and fresh coffee.
A huge park
Galaxy Land has a huge playground which is great for a family day out. The park is on Bellevue Drive in Sunbury.
A great restaurant
District 3249 is a Vietnamese restaurant that really stands out from the rest in Sunbury. For a great review click here. They are at 91 O'Shanassy Street in Sunbury and open from 11am everyday till late.
Sunbury is a 40 minute drive from the city, or a one hour train trip from Flinders Street railway station.
