Another long weekend is coming up and everyone is looking for something fun to do.
WA Day , formerly known as Foundation Day, this year falls on Monday 3rd June, 2013 and there are plenty of events planned over the weekend to help you celebrate the day.
Come along to the
WA Music Showcase at Brookfield Place in Perth between 4pm and 7pm. Held on Friday 31st May, 2013, this free event kicks off the WA Day long weekend and will feature many WA musicians.
As part of the WA Day celebrations the second
State of the Art Festival will be held at the
Perth Concert Hall on Sunday 2nd June, 2013. This event features three different seated indoor concerts and three outdoor stages where an exciting assortment of singers, bands and musicians will perform.

Ticketek . Ticket prices start at $24.60 for the indoor concerts and $13.95 for the outdoor concerts.
Belmont Race Course will be open from 9am on Saturday 1st June, 2013 for WA Plate Day. As part of the WA Day celebrations, this will be a fun family day with loads of activities including live music, face painting, bouncy castles, rides and much, much more. This is a free event.
Celebrate WA Day with a great Aussie BBQ. The
WA Day Coles Community BBQ will be held at various locations including Central Square in Perth, Faulkner Park in Belmont, Market Square in Subiaco and Ellenbrook Town Park in Ellenbrook. Come along on Monday 3rd June, 2013, between 11am and 2pm (Market Square - 2pm till 5pm) and enjoy a yummy sausage sizzle, sausage in a bun will cost $2.50 each and drinks are $1.00 each. All proceeds go the Telethon.
Visit the
Urban Orchard in the Perth Cultural Centre on Monday 3rd June, 2013, for a variety of free activities.
1. Check out the grassed area of Urban Orchard between 10am and 4pm. Use a gigantic knitting loom to create large rope snakes and other yarn inspired creatures.
2. Over at the concrete entry area, between 10am and 4pm, children, parents and grandparents are invited to make a book and take it home. Families can take advantage of the Chill-out Zone and relax in a comfy beanbag with a book.
3. Out the front of the Urban Orchard, on the street stage, you will find the colourful street piano. Have a go between 10am and 5pm.
4. Between 10am and 4pm the open space of Urban Orchard will be transformed into a sculpture park. Come along and create a unique sculpture using bicycle parts.

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre will be roving around the Urban Orchard and the Wetland Area between 10am and 5pm. See the advanced sea creatures of the Aqua Sapiens show.
Visit the
Perth Zoo on WA Day, Monday 3rd June, 2013 and learn all about Endangered animals. Visit between 9am and 5pm for the Perth Zoo Endangered Critters of WA presentation.
The
Western Australian Museum , located in the
Perth Cultural Centre is offering free entry for the WA Museum Trail and Discovery Centre presentation. Come along on Monday 3rd June, 2013, between 9.30am and 5pm, and discover a unique collection of Western Australian artefacts and objects.
As part of the WA Day celebrations, the
West Coast Eagles will play Richmond in a night game on Monday 3rd June, 2013. For the first time ever the West Coast Eagles will host a special WA Day match starting at 5.40pm at Patersons Stadium.
Come down to Fremantle for the WA Day long weekend and take part in the Fremantle Heritage Festival with lots of live music, entertainment, activities, events and more. Or enjoy a delicious Heritage High Tea at the
Esplanade Hotel on Sunday 2nd June, 2013, between 3pm and 5pm, at just $31.95 per person.
