The Bellarine Peninsula is truly beautiful. There is so much to explore. One little spot that should be on your list is St Leonards. A gorgeous little beachside town with pristine waters, great coffee and a playground worth taking the kids to.
The playground at the end of Murroduc Rd is right next to the pier and is a hop, skip and a jump to Wildings Pantry Essentials for a great coffee and some delicious treats. The playground is fenced and has a few swing options, two slides, a fireman pole, two very cool seesaws and more. There are picnic tables and the toilets are a short stroll along the foreshore. The playground is suitable for toddlers and kids into the double digits.
Once the kiddos get tired of the playground, which will take a while (plenty of time for your coffee), the pier and the beach are beautiful for a wander and a play. It is a dog-friendly place, so bring your furry friend. Please keep in mind that dogs need to be on leash within 10 metres of the playground.
The water is pristine and you can spot fish and plenty of other sea-life from the pier. If it is warm enough, it is an ideal spot for some easy snorkelling for the kids. An absolutely wonderful little day trip at any time of the year.
