Manly Beach

If you’re after a beach experience close to the CBD, hop on a ferry and head across to Manly in Sydney’s north. Manly will give you the best of both worlds – the buzz of a city, with stores, cafes, and restaurants right near the beach. There are many things you can do in Manly that will appeal to all ages.

Catching the Ferry

View from the Ferry

First, head to Circular Quay , and catch the Manly ferry from the ferry terminal, or the Manly Fast Ferry, which gets you there a little bit faster. Your trip will take you through the harbour, past the Opera House and then out past the heads and into open waters until you reach the calmer waters of Manly Wharf in Manly Cove on the Circular Quay to Manly route. On a nice day, it is worth sitting outside to take in the view.

Manly Corso

Manly Corso

Once you reach Manly. You have lots of options to explore. The Manly Corso is between the wharf and the beach, and is a pedestrian walkway lined by shops, cafés and other eateries. It’s accessible, smooth and easy to navigate, and ensures a smooth, mostly uninterrupted walk to the beach. Enjoy your time shopping at the various stores and boutiques as you stroll towards the beach.

Manly Wharf

Seagull at Wharf Bar

Manly Wharf has an array of restaurants and bars to explore, such as the Wharf Bar , where you can sit inside or outside and enjoy watching the sea and beach, interspersed with seagulls fluttering around. The Wharf Bar has something for everyone, from your regular fish and chips which is very fresh and delicious, to pizza or burgers – a great place for lunch in a delightful atmosphere.

Q-Station

Q-Station

Like ghosts? If you choose to spend part of your day or stay at [LINJK https://www.qstation.com.au/ Q-Station], you will be in luck. Q-Station was once used as the quarantine station for new arrivals to Australia, and is now home to accommodation, tours, history, and a range of other facilities that you can use and work out what best suits your needs. As Sydney is filled with history, this is somewhere that you can take a tour and learn about the 150 year history of the quarantine station and its ghosts, history and a range of other things that will bring Q-Station to life for visitors of all ages.

Anita Gelato

Anita Gelato

Gelato

End your day with refreshing, homemade gelato at Anita Gelato , a boutique gelato store with lots of flavours to choose from, as well as whether you have it in a cup or a cone. With over 150 different flavours, there should be something for everyone and it is the perfect way to end the day before you head home on the ferry. There are several locations throughout the world as well, and they have cream, vegan, sugar-free and frozen yoghurt options on offer so nobody in your group will miss out! This is some of the best gelato I have ever had!

What a day – this is just a sample of what you could do during a visit to Manly, either on a day trip or over a few days, so take your pick and have a good time.
