Going to Makarska

When you're looking for a beautiful location to spend your next holiday, you should travel to Makarska, Croatia. Makarska is located on the beautiful coast of the Adriatic Sea and the home of a stunning Riviera. In Makarska, you can find a variety of outstanding hotels to stay at if you're planning a short trip, but you can also rent an apartment if you want to have an extended stay.

Beaches

The Tucepi beaches are something travelers of all ages can enjoy. Whether you're on a family vacation with children, or you traveled to Makarska for some rest and relaxation with friends, these beaches are a must-do during your stay. You'll be able to get a tan while lying on the sandy beaches near the crystal-clear water, or you can head into the sea for some fun.

At the beach, you can go out on a boat and take a trip out to sea to view some of the area's aquatic life and enjoy the coast from the water. You can also go in giant inflated bubbles and run across the water. There are also an assortment of other boats you can rent as well. You'll be able to rent a banana boat or paddle boat and go on your own adventure out to sea.

When you're at the beaches of Makarska, you can go for a walk along the base of Mount Biokovo, which is over 5,000-feet-tall. These rocky mountains surrounding the area protect the beach from the harsher climates of the inland.

Hiking

If you're an outdoor enthusiast, you can take one of the trails along Mount Biokovo. This is the highest mountain in the area, so you'll have panoramic views of the city from atop this mountain. When you go for your hike, you'll cross bridges and go through the quiet village of Makar.

Biokovo is also the home to a great nature park that's filled with the local wildlife. At the park, you'll see a variety of wild goats and horses throughout the area. You'll also see some unique plant life that can only be found in this part of the city.

Museums

If you love the ocean and have always wondered what lies underneath the water, you can visit the Seashell Museum to see some incredible seashells like you've never seen before. You can also go to the Makarska Town Museum, which will teach you about the history of the local culture, sea and hedonism in the summertime.

Enjoy Some Wine

If you're in Makarska for a romantic getaway, the Wine Club Croatia is a popular location for adults. You'll be treated to an assortment of delicious wines that are paired with small cheeses. The club also provides other food like ham and figs. The staff of the wine club know exactly what will taste best with each specific wine you're tasting, so you're in for quite a treat.

There's a lot more to do in Makarska than you may realize. You can spend an entire day walking through the town or going on a scenic bike tour to see some of the other historical areas of the city and stunning architecture.
