The Healesville Sanctuary is probably one of the most well known of Healesville's places to see with the myriad of wildlife who reside in the sanctuary. Hedgend Maze is going to be a popular pick for several reasons. There is, of course, the maze, full of turns and twists, but also Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Outdoor Chess, BBQs plus a cafe! A little bit of everything!

In regards to parks with playgrounds there is this fabulous one known as the Healesville Railway Park, which is wonderful fun either in the playground, following the amazing Labyrinth, BBQing or picnicking or even taken a ride on the Healesville Railway which operates tourist train rides on the vintage railway!! Please check the Yarra Valley Railway website to confirm operating days and times.

For a lovely walk and even a picnic, there is Maroondah Reservoir Park, which is also commonly known as Maroondah Dam There are paths and steps leading to the top of the wall rewarding you with fantastic views as well as longer walks through the bush if that is to your liking. Plus there is also a playground here with a sandpit and cute little houses which are very popular with the little ones!

Another park by the name of Queens Park is located in the main township and close to the Beechworth Bakery, which is quite a popular spot for families to visit. Queens Park has BBQs, picnic benches and lots of room for a picnic rug or kick of the footy!

At the time of writing this article the playground has been fenced off as it is about to be remodelled by the Shire - please check back on my page in the future as I will be surely writing a new article covering the re-modelled playground in the future!
