I grew up spending my weekends on Bondi Beach many moons ago. I would imagine that most people living in Sydney have visited the famous Bondi Beach. Nowadays, I rarely go there as it is not the same any more. However, in Bondi and surrounding suburbs, they still have some great events that are really worth going to.

If you check through this list, you may find several that appeal to you and that are worth going to, even if you do not live in the close vicinity of Bondi.

[b]1. BONDI ARCHERY[/b]
Archery is a sport that requires and builds concentration and upper body strength. You can now learn this ancient art while gazing over Bondi Beach! This is a class where beginners can feel comfortable and it is suitable for a minimum age of 8 years.

[b]2. BONDI BOOK CLUB[/b]
Harry Hartog runs a bookshop which is also a meeting place for book lovers. This will be a great place to meet fellow book lovers and this month's book discussion will be on the book [i]The Milkman[/i].

[b]3. FLICKERFEST SHORT FILM FESTIVAL[/b]
Flickerfest is an international short film festival that is on every year. This year they received 2,700 entries from over 100 countries! From this large entry field, only about 200 of the very best were chosen to be screened at the festival.

You can buy fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, organically grown meat and poultry, just picked flowers, artisan bread, homemade jams, cheese, seafood, olive oils, herbs, spices and much more.

Yoshiko Takeuchi will teach you the art of healthy Japanese cooking. Yoshiko has worked at many of Sydney's top restaurants and all ingredients will be supplied. You will learn to make both savoury foods and desserts.

[b]6. BONDI MARKETS[/b]
The Bondi Markets are a Sunday morning tradition and one which I have often gone to and enjoyed! They have a huge range of goods including original designer clothing, exotic imports, handmade jewellery, arts, crafts, homewares, retro furniture, vintage clothes, and much more.

There is also a sausage sizzle and light meals here and this is run by the school canteen to raise money for the school and other local groups.

[b]7. BONDI TO COOGEE COASTAL RUN[/b]
This is for anyone who wants to get fit or to socialise with like-minded people! You will have beautiful views as you run along the beaches for about 35 minutes and end up having brunch at the Coogee Pavilion.

[b]8. PUPPY SCHOOL - TRAINING THE TEENAGE YEARS[/b]
Do you have a teenage dog who is slightly unruly or does not do as he/she is told? If so, this course is designed for juvenile and adolescent dogs up to the age of 12 months and you. If your dog knows the basics but needs a bit further training to do as he/she is told, take this class with him/her.

The course will be taken by Bondi Behaviourist and will be 5 weeks with the class size between 4 and 6 dogs.

[b]9. THE JUNGLE BOOK: MONKEYING AROUND WITH KIPLING'S CLASSIC[/b]
A musical where you can join in the action and interact as it unfolds. Baloo and Mowgli meet again several years after Mowgli has left the jungle. Using original songs, they tell about Mowgli's adventures in the jungle with Bagheera, Kaa, Shere Kahn, the cheeky Monkeys and the Jackal.
