Aussie Authors Supporting Positive Mental Health
A conversation many don't want to have is being spoken about at the official 'Top Ten Books Night 2016' at Berkelouw Bookstore, Paddington on Friday 20 May. You can join the conversation and support 'Suicide Prevention Australia' along with four Australian authors who know about depression and conquering the demons within.
These incredible authors, Adam Schwartz, Antonella Gambotto-Burke, Rebecca Poulson and Samantha Little each have something very important to say, and you can be there to help spread their words to a wider community. This type of conversation needs to be heard if mental health, the power of positive thoughts and having the strength to ask for help is what people suffering need to hear.
Each author will share their works on the night with books from the authors on sale as well as the books on the Top Ten list.
Adam Schwartz is the author of "mum i wish i was dead", his own story about battling depression as a teenager.
Antonella Gambotto-Burke is an author and journalist whose books "The Eclipse: A Memoir of Suicide" and "Mama: Love, Motherhood and Revolution" have both been highly acclaimed.
Rebecca Poulson, author of "Killing Love", is a person who inspires change. Her story is one of survival.
Samantha Little wrote "Into The Fog" as a 17-year-old suffering depression. Just like Adam's, her story is one that needs to be heard.
Book your tickets here and help to expel the taboo that lingers around mental health issues. Giving people the tools and support to get through tough times by sharing their stories with people they can trust is good for the wider community.
