Sydney is putting up some spectacular Christmas lights and decorations this year.
This year you will see brilliant lights transforming Sydney CBD into a magical Christmas wonderland. It is a great time to bring the whole family into the City just to see these beautiful free festive display and decorations.
Christmas is fast approaching and it will be the busiest time for everyone in the final two weeks. All major retail stores will open late for all the last minute Christmas rush.
Take a break from the shopping hectic and enjoy the festive season with free Christmas lights and decorations that the whole family will love.
Below is the list of my favourite light shows and decorations around Sydney:
Marvel the LEGO Christmas Tree:
The highlights for 2014 is definitely the Lego Christmas Tree placed outside Westfield Sydney in Pitt Street Mall.
This is a 10 metre tall Christmas tree built entirely from LEGO bricks, complete with its very own Santa in short shorts, surf board and sleigh.
For your record, it is the largest LEGO Christmas Tree in the Southern Hemisphere.
From 28 November to 26 December, the Spectacular LEGO Christmas Tree comes to life every evening at 8:15pm, 8:30pm, 8:45pm and 9:00pm with a magical lightshow set to your favourite Christmas carols.
Christmas Forest Lights:
Walked towards Market Street and look up to gaze on the multi-coloured Christmas Light Forest placed overhead. The change of colours will dazzle you.
Look to your right and you will find Sephora, the French giant cosmetics house, opened their first store in Sydney on Friday 5 December. Their signature black and white stripes are a show-stopper for all beauty lovers. The various shades of blushes, lip gloss and eye shadows on display are glamorous enough for Christmas.
Christmas Vivid Light Projections:
Head towards King Street and watch in wonder with Vivid light projections every evening.
Sydney's 2014
Winter Vivid Event was a huge success, so for Christmas this year, similar light projections are used to transform the facades of several buildings at the King Street entrance to Pitt Street Mall.
These tired old buildings spring to life with amazing digital light projections every evening from 6pm and transform the CBD area into a magical landscape.
Martin Place's Giant Christmas Tree:
Stroll through Martin Place, Sydney's central business district and marvel at the giant interactive Christmas Tree.
Not only does this ever-green Christmas tree look spectacular, it also has an interactive feature where you can share your love and good wishes by sending messages up its branches. So be sure to have your phone ready.
There is also a fun touchpad kiosk, where you will get a chance to play with the colour scheme of the tree's LED decorations.
These delightful array of light shows, festive installations, amazing Christmas-themed decorations and interactive experiences bring back the magic of Christmas for kids and adults alike.
The Sydney Christmas lights and decorations will be on display from 27 November 2014 until 25 December 2014.
Have a very Merry Christmas.
