Spring is in the air and the whole of Canberra is looking forward to the spectacular that is Floriade, which will be held between 15th September - 14th October. Floriade isn't the only spring celebration in the city however, with a host of spring events, tours and activities planned at our own Parliament House. The iconic building at Capital Hill has a whole team of horticulturists, gardeners and landscapers who spend their year tending to the gardens and courtyards within the building so that they best represent the changing seasons in the Capital.

This spring, Parliament House will be opening up their doors and giving the public a sneak peek into some of the private courtyards within the building, to show off their amazing array of floral displays in bloom. Join a tour and hear stories about who have visited the gardens, the unique plantings and the reasons why there are so many water features! Check out the events below and book in early to secure your place, at Canberra's other spring celebration.

1/ Spring Tea in the Courtyards will be held on 22nd and 23rd September, with guests enjoying a glass of bubbly and sweet and savoury delicacies created by their Executive Chef. Sit in the blossoming courtyards with your favourite friends, and enjoy this unique opportunity within the walls of Parliament House. The menu includes mouth-watering delicacies such as Quail egg benedict with black truffle, pecan crumble scones, lemon coconut indulgence and berry delicious tart. This special event will be held between 11:30am - 1:30pm on both days, at a cost of $75 per person, plus booking fee. See here for booking details.

The Meet The Gardener Tours will be held on two days only on 23rd September and 14th October, at 10am - 12:30pm and 1pm - 3:30pm. Tickets cost $60 per person ($50 concession), plus booking fee.
