Top 3 Spots to Score a Visit With Santa in Brisbane

As the magical time of Christmas draws near, December is a month full of possibilities and wonder. Christmas is not complete without the jovial father figure of the guy in the big red suit; Santa Claus and his reindeer visiting from the North Pole. If your kids cannot wait until the night of Christmas Eve to catch a glimpse of this legendary figure, see below for of a list of places you can go to strategically bump into their favourite Santa. They may not be able to sit on Santa's lap for all of them but these visits are bound to be spell-bounding and entertaining nevertheless!

Click on the links below for a look at the top three places where you can meet the big guy in red, Mr Santa Claus himself!

Spaced out Santa (15th December to 24th December)

How about visiting Santa for a whole hour? Stage Door Dinner Theatre is organising a Christmas pantomime with a unique twist. Santa Claus has now moved into the latest century, having outgrown his home in the North Pole. His next stop is literally out of this world; he tries to conquer a big, lavish space station beyond the stars in the outer galaxy to build his toys for all the good little children down here on Earth. Of course, Santa is not without his enemies.

In this play, it is in the form of evil mad scientist, Ralph and wacky alien, Gamma Gamma conspiring to shut down Christmas forever. Ralph plans to kidnap the captain of Santa's space station, Care Bear, and stop him aligning to the Christmas Star, thus preventing Santa's sleigh from taking off. To see what happens next, bring your kids down to the Stage Door Dinner Theatre, 4 Cintra Road, Brisbane (07) 3216 1115.

Tickets are $15 each and sessions run from 11 am to 12 pm from Saturday 15th December to 24th December. Bring your little ones to catch a glimpse of the big man in red with his lively elves and sing along to festive Christmas carols. An afternoon of fun guaranteed!

The Myer Brisbane City Christmas Windows are back again for another spectacular extravaganza with Russel's Christmas Magic. After having a look at the magical display up which is available right through 6 January, head upstairs and experience Santaland, a kid's dream come true. Santaland is a fun, interactive playground where kids can pick up a golden ticket to ride a locomotive train, taking a tour through Santaland village while they wave to their parents.

They can then visit Santa and his special friend Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer to have their photo taken or send a letter to the North Pole. Santa will be at the Myer Brisbane City store from 6th November to 24th December. If you do not live near the city, Santa will also make guest appearances at Myers stores including Brookside, Carindale, Chermside, Indooroopilly, Loganholme, Maroochydore, North Lakes, Pacific Fair, Robina and Toowoomba.

Head to their website to view appearance times and dates.

Redcliffe Santa Sleigh, Christmas by the Sea, Park & Stars.

From Sunday 18th November to Monday 17th December, the annual Redcliffe Santa Sleigh will again be visiting all streets in the Redcliffe Peninsula, thanks to Rotary Club of Redcliffe City.

So if you live near the Redcliffe peninsula, keep an eye out for the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh and his characteristic "Ho, ho, ho" as he brings Christmas cheer to local residents. If you are not home when he rides past or just miss him as you rush out of your house, you can catch him at Christmas by the Sea on 1st December at Scarborough Beach Park, Scarborough. Santa will arrive at the Christmas by the Sea stage at 5:30pm, just after the street parade.

Your kids can then meet Santa at "Santa's Village" - make sure you bring your camera and your Christmas wish list! Make sure you stay until 8pm for the festive fireworks finale. With all the activities available like markets, twilight carols and Christmas shows, animal farm and rides, time will go by without realising it!

Santa will also make an appearance at Christmas in the Park at 6.00pm. Christmas in the Park is held at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine from 5 pm to 9pm on the 24th of November. You can then meet Santa in the Tinsel-A-Tree Village from 7pm - 8.30pm. Make sure you bring your Christmas wish list!

If you live further north at Caboolture, don't fret. Santa will be making an appearance there too on the 14th of December at Caboolture Town Square, Caboolture from 5 pm 9.30pm. Santa will arrive at 5pm just before you enjoy the fireworks and the free outdoor movie the Polar Express under the stars and the clear sky.

That's not all! There's classic Christmas carols, free rides, an animal farm, pony rides, kids Christmas activities, markets and entertainment from Jaki Page and Jesse Davies.
