Top Shelf Entertainment is synonymous with first rate classy entertainment. The owner, manager, dancer, stripper and choreographer of the company, Leigh, works hard at keeping it that way. He is a dancer who can strip, not a stripper who can't dance. He hand picks and trains all his employees to make sure they represent the Top Shelf code of excellence and he is happiest when he's busy dreaming up the next big show. Leigh has been keeping women entertained at his full-on cabaret type shows for over six years. Every show is well thought out with nothing left to chance. It's like being on a movie set and watching the actors play a role complete with perfect setting, mood lighting and background themes. His website is well thought out and you can review each entertainer and make an informed choice. Who is this man that knows 'what women want' ?

The Creative Force and Face Behind The Name.

Leigh's parents were missionaries in South Africa and they lived in Zimbabwe where he grew up and stayed till he was eighteen. Dancing did not come early to Leigh and it was only after he turned eight that he discovered his passion for dancing. Michael Jackson was his idol. While attending boarding school at the age of twelve he remembers enjoying dance classes while the other boys were playing rugby. When a talent competition came along at the school when he was fifteen, he decided to perform Michael Jackson's 'History'. So committed was he that he built his own rocket ship for the show. Recruiting the help of an artist who was boarding with his family at the time, he got him to help build the rocket ship tall and big enough to actually fit Leigh in it. Armed with fluorescent lighting that shone out of the rocket and smoke machines to create the illusion, he came up with choreographed ideas for his performance. His creative mind had well and truly started ticking like a time-bomb.

Michael Jackson was not just his main inspiration, he wanted to be him. So obsessed and passionate about his dancing was he that his school work took second place. By the time the family moved back to Perth - Western Australia when Leigh was 18, he decided he wanted to go to B-Boy school. He got himself a retail job after he completed his schooling and kept on honing his craft and feeding his passion for dancing outside of work. He would seek out B-boy communities and learn all he could from them, eventually running his own classes as he wanted to make B-Boy classes more available to the wider community. On a night out to The Leederville in Perth he watched paid dancers entertaining the crowd and came up with some of his own ideas. He started dancing professionally Michael Jackson style and did a show called 'Men in Black', break dancing. At this point, 'stripping' and male stripping agencies were alien to him. Starting his own dance group and calling it 'Feed the Floor Entertainment', he came up with his own choreography and themes like 'Gangster-SWAT', Boogie Nights and Mortal Kombat'. Agencies started hiring him to dance at strip clubs as he got a lot of response from the women, which was good for business. He then moved in with a friend who was part of the stripping scene, little knowing his life was about to change. This friend told Leigh he could make far more money stripping, but Leigh was not into it and refused. Not taking NO for an answer, over time, this friend finally wore him down. After a practice run at a private dinner party, Leigh succumbed and started working for Hardbodies.

After a couple of years, Leigh saw a business opportunity and decided to start his own business and Top Shelf Entertainment was born, putting on their first show in 2008. He had learned all he could, had experienced what was on offer and just knew he could do it better. Starting with offering his strippers coaching and training in choreographed shows that was never provided within other companies at the time, Top Shelf Entertainment makes sure their customers get bang for their buck. At their first show the venue was packed out and through great shows and satisfied customers, Topshelf's longevity was assured.

Not happy to rest on his laurels, his Perth business booming and firmly established, Leigh is heading for the shores of Melbourne. He loves challenges and says there's nothing like starting again or being a small fish in a big pond to get his adrenaline pumping. He excels under pressure and already has a show in the pipelines coming up for Melbourne next month, so watch this space! Top Shelf Entertainment will soon be bursting onto the Melbourne scene. At its helm, a young man whose hobby is his work, one who loves to design and create, who 'works-out' at the gym 5 days a week, loves to golf with friends and get on a longboard down the coast. He's taken stripping to a whole new level, the quality of the whole show being paramount and leading the way in this competitive market. Until the Melbourne show arrives next month, for all your entertainment needs, you can contact Leigh on 0405 077 978 or email him at [email protected]
