So much to do, so little time
Given the warm weather, The Gold Coast is set to be a hive of activity these upcoming school holidays. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy kilometres of sandy beaches, gorgeous surf and a multitude of family-friendly events and school holiday programs. My top recommendations are outlined below.

1. Join in the Fun at Surfers Paradise Kids Week 2019
(28 September - 4 October 2019)

Enjoy a celebration of both community heroes and superheroes. Free "DC Super Heroes in Training" shows will be held twice daily, followed by character meet and greets.

This action-packed week will also include an array of children's games, sports and activities. Read the official event program here.

2. Ride the World's Tallest Inflatable Water Slide
21 September - 13 October, Broadwater Parklands)

The Big Wedgie is a four lane racer standing at 18.2 metres tall and 82 metres long. Thrill seekers can also ride the Big Chucka a slide with a vertical free fall, followed by a steep plunge and some air action.

Two smaller slides will be erected for younger children, providing recreational opportunities for all members of the family.

3. Conquer Australia's Biggest Inflatable Fun Park
(23 September - 6 October 2019, Queens Park Tennis Centre Southport)

Bring the family for a two hour session of inflatable fun. Highlights include a 12 metre high Superman Slide, 20 metre long Wild West Obstacle Course, Zorb Ball Ramp and outdoor Bubble Soccer.

4. Attend a Free Kids' Pool Party
(21 September - 6 October 2019, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre)

Skip the beach and enjoy some pool party fun. Kids and adults can dive into two giant ball pools with inflatable pool toys, slide into a foam pool and ride a wave on a mechanical inflatable surfboard.

Bookings not required. Limited places per session, see staff member on duty for next available timeslot.

5. Experience the Thrills of an Urban Underground Skateboarding Workshops
(26 September - 4 October 2019, Westfield Coomera)

Children 5 to 14 years can build confidence and learn new skills under the guidance of professional coaches.

60-minute classes will be structured to suit a wide range of skill levels, from beginners to experienced. Participants will have access to more than 10 custom-built skate ramps and a live DJ.

Bookings essential via website. Skateboards, helmets a limited selection of protective pads will be provided.
