It is never too early to start planning how you are going to keep the kids entertained with fun packed activities and events in the school holidays. So here are five fantastic school holiday activities for your little ones.

Adelaide Zoo

Treat your 5 (must have spent 2019 at school) to 12 year olds to an Adelaide Zoo ZOOcation . Come along to the Adelaide Zoo from 9 am to 4 pm and spend the day with Conservation Educators getting to now all the animals. The day is filled with fun, adventurous activities, games, animal presentations and quality time with new friends.

Cost if $65 per day for #361878 ">non-members and $55 per day for #361879 ">members .

There are only 30 places per day, so get in quick to book this very popular activity.



Craft Party

Bring the kids along to the Arkaba Hotel, 150 Glen Osmond Road, Fullarton on Wednesday 2 October 2019 from 11 am to 12.30 pm for a free Craft Party. The little ones can make their own creations to take home while you enjoy a coffee.

Entry is free but bookings are essential. Call 8338 1100 to book.

Urrbrae House**

Take in some South Australian history with a free guided tour of Urrbrae House , Walter Young Avenue, Urrbrae. Built-in 1891 Urrbrae House was the first home in South Australia to be lit by electricity. See the Victorian schoolroom and young visitors can try writing with a nib pen and ink.

The tour runs for approximately 75 minutes, then you can explore the gardens and adjacent Waite Arboretum at your leisure. The tour is offered Tuesday and Thursday at 11 am during school holidays. Bookings are essential .

Sprout Cooking Class for Kids – Mitcham Square and Mawson Central**

Your budding master chefs will love the free Sprout Cooking Class for Kids at Mitcham Square Shopping Centre, 119 Belair Road, Torrens Park or Mawson Central, 10 University Parade, Mawson Lakes.

Kids 6 or older (must be at least 110 cm tall) will get to join in the fun of cooking. Those participating must wear flat, enclosed shoes, tie hair back, cover shoulders and not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. All dietary requirements must be notified prior and children who may need an epi-pen must bring it with them.

Classes are Wednesday 2 and 9 October 2019 at 10 am, 11.30 am and 1 pm. Bookings are essential – Mitcham Square and Mawson Central .



Seed Bombs!

Bring your 6 – 9 year olds along to the Campbelltown Library, 171 Montacute Road, Newton on Tuesday 8 October 2019 from 2 pm or 3 pm to learn all about seed bombs and bees. Sandy Ullrich from the Adelaide Bee Sanctuary will welcome spring and teach your emerging gardeners how to create seed bombs and bomb your garden with native flowers.

Bookings are essential – 2 pm and 3 pm . Registrations available from 9 am 24 September 2019.
