1. Gentle Annie Falls - Hobart
Where: Waterworks Reserve, Waterworks Rd, Hobart
When: All year round
Details: If you live in Hobart or are visiting, then this track is a must do. It is spectacularly scenic and located just 3km out of town, the bush trail is perfect for off-road runners and walkers. The short, loop run/walk takes you through open bushland and past a 'dry waterfall'. The falls have been dry since 1940. Click here for the website.
Grade: 1.3km bush track, short steep climb at beginning of walk and staircase to top of the falls.

2. Lake Burley Griffin Circuit- Canberra
Where: Acton, ACT
When: All year round
Details: The Capital City has even the nation's leaders stretching their legs on this track. The man-made Lake Burley Griffin is famous for spotting out politicians, admiring the views of landmarks, memorials and scenic views of the Lake. Click here for the website.

3. The Tan Track- Melbourne

Where: Royal Botanic Gardens, Birdwood Ave, South Yarra
Where: All year round
Details: This track is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely walk or run with scenic views from the Botanic Gardens and King's Domain. Take a rest under a tree or by the lake and get back on the track for more picturesque views. Click here for the website.
Grade: 3.8km, garden track, smooth and stone aggregate surface.

4. Law Walk- Perth
Where: King's Park, head towards the State War Memorial off Fraser Ave- Lookout for an orange-roofed circular building structure (Rotunda 1) and from here a small path will lead you to the Law Walk sign.
When: All year round
Details: This urban bushland trail takes you through scenic views of the Swan River and the unique insight into biodiversity along the Mount Eliza escarpment. Observe the flocks of birdlife, yachts moored at Matilda Bay, keep an eye out for dolphins, and views of lush bushland. Click here for the website.
Grade: 2.5km loop, urban bushland, moderate with some steep sections.

5. Fannie Bay Circuit- Darwin
Where: E Point Rd, Fannie Bay (follow the track from E Point Rd)
When: All year round
Details: Soak the sights of Darwin with this walk/run. Darwin boasts some of the most spectacular and picturesque sunsets in the world and the best time to enjoy this walk/run is at sunset which is also the best time to escape the heat! Walk under towering palm trees as you admire the scenic views of the ocean and lush bushland and be sure to stop at Dudly Point Lookout for breathtaking views. Click here for the website.

6. Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk
Where: Sydney
When: All year round
Details: Be in awe with some of the most picturesque scenery of New South Wales coast on this track. The coastal walk/run snakes its way along cliff tops, famous and secluded beaches, as well as inlets and lagoons. There can be high traffic on sunny weekend mornings. Click here for the website.

7. River Torrens Run
Where: Adelaide
When: All year round
Details: This track snakes its way past some of Adelaide's historic landmarks, river mouth at West Beach/Henley Beach The River Torrens offers plenty of scenery for the die-hard runner or the leisurely walker. Pass through the River Red Gums and reed beds, a trail oasis in the city and suburbs! There are also a number of playgrounds, picnic spots, duck-feeding spots and toilets along the route.
Grade: 30km, river banks, historical sites.

8. Kangaroo Point Steps
Where: Brisbane
When: All year round.
Details: This track is a favoured spot for media and celebrities alike, so keep your eyes peeled for famous faces as well as the sweeping views of Brisbane. This challenging run/walk offers a 3km run/walk from the CBD and then 107 steps to conquer at the end of the walk/run to make it to the top of Kangaroo Point Steps. Click here for the website.
