With all the events occurring in the Scenic Rim in the coming months, it's the perfect time to escape the city, have some fun and even grab a bargain. Whether you're shopping for Christmas presents or wishing to treat yourself, there is something for everyone.

Make the most of your weekend escape by combining one of these great shopping events with the Kalbar Country Day or Boonah Orchid Show.



Here are 7 great upcoming markets at the Scenic Rim in date order:

1. Kalbar Swap Meet

If you love markets and cars, then the Kalbar Swap Meet is the event for you! Sunday October 20 will be a day of shopping, browsing and fun at the Kalbar Showgrounds.



Hosted by the Fassifern Car Club Inc, classic cars are the hero of the day. There will cars, trucks, bikes, old engines, vintage tractors and more.



Gates open at 6am for the general public with the entertainment commencing at 7.30am. Camping is available in the showgrounds for an additional fee.

2. Garage Sale Trail

Turn trash into treasure during the weekend of 19 - 20 October.

Scenic Rim households, schools and community groups will join more than 400,000 people across Australia on the Garage Sale Trail.

3. Christmas Markets – Summer Land Camels

Children will have fun. Santa will be arriving on camel! This is a boutique country market selling locally grown and produced food products, art and Christmas gifts. Relax and enjoy the live music and wine lounge.



A farm tour will be occurring at 11am and bookings can be made athttps://summerlandcamels.com.au.

Santa will distributing presents. If you wish to get involved, please bring or buy presents and label them for Santa to give to your kids.

4. Community Clothes Swap

Presented by the Boonah Organisation for a Sustainable Shire, this clothes swap celebrates National Recycling Week and is the ideal opportunity to declutter your wardrobe and revamp your closet.



Bring along clothes, shoes or accessories (men's, women's and children's) and it's free to swap, otherwise, a gold coin donation is required to buy.

Upcycled bags will be available to purchase, There will also be innovative displays and demonstrations on a variety of ways to upcycle textiles.

Feel free to also bring along items for recycling such as mobiles and accessories, corks, household batteries, old plastic store cards, sturdy fabric, old sheets and curtains, and bras and swimmers

The Clothes Swap is occurring next to the Cultural Foundation's Book Fest, another fun recycling week event.

5. Boonah Bookfest

Thousands of books will be on sale at the Annual Boonah Bookfest. Run by the Boonah & District Cultural Foundation, there will be nothing over $5 and funds contribute to purchases for the Boonah Library and Boonah Writers Festival.

6. Mount Alford Artisans Market

Celebrate local makers and growers at the Mount Alford Artisans Market. Held at the Mount Alford School of Arts Hall, you can browse and shop from a variety of food, produce, plant, art and handicraft stalls. There will also be live music and is family and pet-friendly. BYO shopping bags.

7. Boonah Country Markets

If you're travelling to Boonah on the second or fourth Saturday of the month, don't miss the Boonah Country Markets selling produce, flowers, baked goods, jewellery and more.
