The small bar scene has been rapidly growing in Perth city and in Northbridge. Because of our sunny climate and balmy nights, Perth is the ideal city to have rooftop anything.

If your in the city on a Friday or Saturday night, head over to a rooftop bar, have a drink and enjoy the view. This is my guide to the top three rooftop bars in the city.

1. The Green House .

Located on St Georges Terrace, go into the downstairs restaurant and then up the stairs to the bar. The Green House is a niche bar as it is made completely from recycled materials; planter boxes and plant pots surround the building and give it a fantastic ambiance of cool calmness. The drinks are quite pricey but they are worth it and the staff are uber attentive and fun.

2. The Conservatory

This roofftop bar is located above Carnegies at 365 Murray St Perth. This is a well set out bar and features entertainment such as a D.J or live music on a small stage. The bar is busy, especially on a Friday night, but the staff are quick about their business. Here, a classic cocktail is priced at $17, wine by the glass is from $9 and bottled beer is from $9 for a Redback Beer.

3. The Nest

The Nest is the rooftop bar of The Aviary. Also located on Murray Street Perth, closer to the Mall, The Nest is possibly the classiest of the three with more of a fashionable vibe. You'll need to have a pocket full of dollars to enjoy this rooftop bar as The Nest is encouraging people to book and pre-pay the tables on Friday and Saturday nights. The price for this varies, Friday being the more expensive night, but it does include food, a waiter or waitress, the entry fee and the drinks, this appeals to people wanting an interesting place to have a function. The Nest is the ultimate outdoor space and features a bowling green.
