Now I am not someone who would rave about a tearoom (or not one) without valid reasoning. On our anniversary weekend my husband and I decided to go exploring the Macedon Ranges.
Having spent a quiet morning at Daylesford, we decided to check out Hanging Rock - it is so mystical, right up my alley. In dearth of things to do next, we decided to visit the Memorial Cross, right at the top of Mt. Macedon. And there it was! Some of the best places are always surprise-finds.
Sitting on the very top of Mt.Macedon, where the road ends, is Top of the Range tea-room. The tasteful interior and friendly staff added charm to its atmosphere, with soft light filtering through its large windows overlooking the scenic beauty of Mount Macedon.
Kenneth, their pet peacock is as famous as the tearoom itself. I encountered him strolling lazily near the entrance with a flurry of tourists trying to capture his graceful stride. And he, amidst the chaos, was calm and controlled and posing for pictures like Kim Kardashian! I I purchased a "Kenneth feather" from their souvenir shop because A. I found it so unique B. My husband's name in Hindi means peacock. A sacred Indian bird. Check out Kenneth on Facebook
Please note that when there is total fire ban, it is CLOSED along with the rest of Macedon Regional Park.
