This October, Auckland and its surrounds will be hosting plenty of events for all ages and interests.

The list below features free & ticketed festivals, workshops, concerts, family-friendly and child-friendly events, music and sports events, shows, theatre, fairs, markets and much more events to satisfy all interests.

1. Auckland Heritage Festival
When: 29 September 2018- 14 October 2018
Where: Various locations across Auckland

Details: This cultural, heritage and family-friendly festival will feature an array of events as you discover the colourful characters and diverse cultures and communities who have shaped Tamaki Makaurau through the years. 2. A Taste of Southern New Zealand
When: 4 October 2018: From 6pm
Where: Euro Bar, 22 Princes Wharf, Auckland
Cost: $135pp
Details: This delicious event will showcase a six-course degustation perfectly matched with Mt Difficulty wines. The event is inspired by New Zealand's southern fare and the menu. Click here for the website.



3. Antique & Collectors Fair
When: 6 & 7 October 2018: 6th: 12pm-5pm & 7th: 8am-2pm
Where: Avondale Racecourse, 90 Ash St, Avondale
Cost: Free
Details: This fair will showcase a variety of items for sale at reasonable prices. Items include vintage, antique, jewellery, gadgets, Victorian books, children's and reference books, furniture, china including Asian ceramics and New Zealand pottery, art, textiles, retro kitchen accessories, postcards, records, and much more. 4. AUTSA Ball: The 7 Deadly Sins
When: 6 October 2018: 6:30pm-Midnight
Where: The Wharf, 2 Queen St, Northcote
Cost: AUT Students: $63pp & Non-AUT Students: $83pp
Details: This event will certainly be a sinfully good night of entertainment with a free drink on arrival, canapés throughout the evening, best-dressed prizes, and more. This event is 18yrs and ID will be required. Click here for the website.

5. The Chocolate & Coffee Show
When: 6 & 7 October 2018: 9am-5pm
Where: The Cloud, Queens Wharf, Auckland

6. Club Modern's Cocktail Party

7. Backgammon Championship
When: 6 & 7 October 2018: From 10am
Where: Taksim Turkish Kitchen & Bar, 373 Manukau Rd, Epsom

Details: The Auckland Backgammon Club will be the sponsors of this event and it will open to all Backgammon Players. There will be play 5-seven point Matches, followed by the top 16 players from Swiss Format who will be playing Knockout Matches on the 7th October. Click here for the website.

8. Alberton Vintage Market Day

17. BBQ Masterclass & Whisky Tasting Mash-Up

Details: This R18 event will feature leading New Zealand competitive BBQ teams as they run you through comprehensive BBQ masterclasses followed by whisky tasting.
