This October, there will be a wide range of free & ticketed events across Brisbane and its surrounds. There will be something for everyone with the list below, including festivals, fairs, family-friendly events, sports, concerts, theatre, fundraising, and much more.

1. Redfest Strawberry Festival
When: Saturday, 1st -3rd October 2022- 9am-9pm and 3rd: 9am-4pm
Where: Raby Bay Harbour, Shore St, Cleveland
Cost: Adults: $12.50pp, Students: $5pp and Family: $25 per family
Details: This long-weekend festival will showcase non-stop entertainment, carnival rides, pop-ups, exhibitors, sample & tastings, exhibitions, displays, fireworks, amusement rides, a kids corner, live music performances, strawberry ice creams & other food stalls, showbags, and much more.

2. City Sounds
When: 1-31st October 2022
Where: Various locations across Brisbane
Cost: Free
Details: Since 2000, City Sounds has been a popular outdoor free music event that is held weekly. City Sounds showcase up-and-coming local musicians performing live across Brisbane city. There is a bit of everything, including folk, alternative, jazz, electro, and more.

3. The Velvet Lounge

Where: Ipswich Civic Centre,

Details: Singer/songwriter Carole Williams will be performing her new show, The Velvet Lounge, which will bring a soul-filled, powerful collection of songs in a quirky, seductive, and dark comedy that will break all the rules.

4. Nikki Osborne- Too Far

Details: Nikki Osborne is the host of Channel Ten's Just for Laughs-Uncut, which features comedy from Montreal that was deemed too naughty to be aired. Her Too Far show will include cheeky, controversial comedy.

5. Skunkhour

Details: Legendary 90s alt-funk, soul-rock Skunkhour returns this October for a national tour celebrating the launch of their new four-track EP- "Parts of the Sun"- their first studio recording in 20 years.

6. GHMX- Gaming, Hobby & Model Expo

Where: Strathpine Community Centre,

7. Gran Slam Live

Where: Redland Performing Arts Centre,

Details: Hosted by award-winning comedian Jenny Wynter and Australian Hip Hop legend Morganics, Gram Slam Live features comedy, music, and poetry from razor-sharp collective poetic stars aged 65 to 99. They will battle it out with hilarious insights into life, aging, freedom, and everything in between for a cash and publishing prize.

8. Gold- The Ulitmate ABBA Show

9. Emmanuel Twilight Festival

Details: This Festival will be jam-packed with entertainment, carnival and amusement rides (rides pass available for $35pp), live performances, food stalls/trucks, raffles, auctions, face painting, showbags, chocolate wheel, activities, displays, and much more.

10. The Boys by Gordon Graham
When: Tuesday, 4th-22nd October 2022
Where: PIP Theatre, 20 Park Rd, Milton
Cost: Tickets range from $30-$60pp
Details: First performed in 1922 and never professionally produced in Brisbane, The Boys is about Brett Sprague, who is just out of jail. He reunites with his mum Sandra and brothers Glenn and Stevie and is ready to reclaim his life. But things have changed while Brett's been inside. Girlfriend Michelle may have moved on, Glenn's moved out, and Stevie's about to be a dad.

As Brett's disruptive force takes hold, tensions flare, and Brett embarks on a drink-fuelled rampage, sweeping his brothers along with him – with terrifying consequences.

11. Go Pink Charity Luncheon
When: Wednesday, 5th October 2022: 11am-2pm
Where: Club Services Ipswich, 5a Lowry Street, North Ipswich

Details: Club Services Ipswich's annual Go Pink Charity Luncheon is back and is raising funds for the Ipswich Hospital Foundation for breast cancer care at West Moreton Health.

The event will celebrate 25 years of breast screen Ipswich, and proceeds from raffles and tickets will go towards the foundation.

The event will feature guest speakers, door prizes, bubbles on arrival, a 2-course meal, raffles, and more. Do not forget to come dressed in your best pink outfit for the best-dressed in pink prizes.

13. Camerata and Emily Wurramara

Details: Award-winning First Nations performer Emily Wurramarra will share the stage with Camerata- Queensland Chamber Orchestra with storytelling enriched by the powerful string sounds of Camerata. Details: This year the Expo will showcase the most extensive local business event in Brisbane with over 290 exhibiting companies and 28 event sponsors. 16. Airplay- Chamber Music Concert

Details: The Music Concert will include Ensemble Trivium, one of Brisbane's leading chamber music collectives, where they will be performing in their pop-up venue. 25. 12th Annual Walk for Awareness

Details: Australia's biggest walk for mental health is back for its 12th year with a mission to encourage more Aussies to take on the physical challenge and fundraise.

The event helps to raise awareness and spark conversation about mental health. The Walk or Run is a 9km track.
