So to start with how about make mum breakfast in bed? Make her very favourite breakfast, maybe pancakes, waffles or bacon and eggs and a nice cup of tea or coffee or some fresh orange juice. Set everything out nicely on a tray, use the nice cutlery and dishes, decorate the tray with a flower, and don't forget a napkin.
If your mum doesn't like breakfast in bed take her out to breakfast. Lots of restaurants and cafés serve breakfast and some will even be serving a special Mother's Day breakfast.

Take mum out to her favourite restaurant for a meal on Mother's Day. Most restaurants are having special Mother's Day menus and bookings are essential.
If you like cooking maybe you can cook a meal for mum. Cook up a storm in the kitchen and make her a special meal she won't forget. Make her a favourite dish or if you are more adventurous try something different or a bit 'gourmet'.
Most mums like a nice bunch of flowers or a plant and you can get some lovely ones around Mother's Day and they don't have to be too expensive either.
Flowers and plants are available from pretty much everywhere and there is a wide variety available at a range of prices to suit everyone. Try your local garden centre or you can even make up a nice hanging basket for your mum using her favourite plants.
Gift Cards. There are plenty of gift card options to buy. You can get one from pretty much any store or shopping centre. Just choose a pretty card design, choose an amount, get the card loaded up and you're done. This way your mum can buy whatever she likes, whenever she likes.
Gift Baskets or Hampers. Get creative and make up your own gift basket or hamper. Buy a basket in a size of your choice. Then just fill it with items you think mum will like. Choose different foodstuffs and chocolates or toiletries and perfumes. Use your imagination, mix and match or go with a theme.
The choice is endless and you get to control the amount you spend. Then just wrap it all up in cellophane, add a bow and some ribbon and your good to go.
Gift Packs. Most stores have ready made up gift packs for mum.
Perfume is always popular or fancy soap, bath salts, cosmetics and body lotions and they are available in a variety of sizes and a range of prices.
If mum likes to read buy her a book by her favourite author. Maybe get her something different like an autobiography. There are thousands of fiction and non-fictions books available plus books about cooking, gardening, art, renovating or even lifestyle and self-help books to choose from.
Sometimes you can get a signed edition which is nice and a bit more personal.
If you're still having trouble finding the right book perhaps you could get mum a gift card from her favourite bookshop, that way she can choose a great book herself.

Get mum a DVD or her favourite movie or a movie starring her favourite actor. There are new release DVD's every week, or perhaps classic movies are more your mum's style. With plenty of genres to choose from such as romance, comedy, drama, thriller, horror plus documentaries, TV series, mini-series and life-style programs, the choice is practically endless.
If she likes music get her a CD. If you're not sure what to get there's always a gift card or an I-Tunes card.

Home Baked Goodies. Make some yummy homemade goodies as a treat for mum. Try cookies, cupcakes, a Mother's Day cake, fudge or rocky road. Wrap them in cellophane or put them in a pretty tin or box.
Framed Photo. Choose a nice photo that you think mum will like such as one of the kids, family or grandchildren. Get it printed in the size you require and put it in a nice frame. Or get one of those frames with multiple spaces for more pictures.
Another good idea is to get a photo album and fill it with photos, maybe from the last year or from a particular special occasion.
Jewellery. Every mum loves jewellery so surprise her with some nice earrings, a necklace or a bracelet. Jewellery stores have lots of gift ideas and usually have Mother's Day Sales so you should have no problem finding something just right.
