Mother's Day is a special time for families, all around the country. In Canberra, there are dozens of ways to spend the day with your mum (see the article Where are the Best Places to Celebrate Mother's Day in Canberra? for ideas!) Thankfully, this year will be a lot different to last year and although we still have COVID-19 precautions in place, we can still get out and about and enjoy Mother's Day with loved ones. It is also the perfect time to support your local cafes, restaurants and bars, after a non-existent Mother's Day last year.

1/ The Mother's Day Classic is an annual charity fundraising event which is held all around the country, which raises money for breast cancer research. This event will be held at Lake Burley Griffin and Lake Ginnindera on Mother's Day - so register your family, strap on your walking shoes and raise money for a good cause. See here for details.
2/ The National Museum of Australia will be having a High Tea with a glass of sparkling on arrival and an unlimited selection of loose leaf teas. It will be held in Peninsula Room at the National Museum of Australia, with expansive views of Lake Burley Griffin. The cost is $65 per person or $40 per person under 14 years. See here for details.
3/ Pialligo Estate will be hosting a Mother's Day Lunch with bubbles on arrival, 3 courses and shared plates. The cost is $110 per person, with kids under 10 costing $35. Book early for this popular location! See here for details.
4/ First Edition Restaurant & Bar in the city will be having a family-friendly High Tea with unlimited tea and coffee. Younger children will enjoy a simpler menu, as well as an entertainment room with activities and a movie. The cost is $90.76 for adults and $43.29 per child. See here for details.
5/ Hoi Polloi at Old Parliament House will be having a delicious High Tea with a glass of sparkling on arrival, at a cost of $60 per person! See here for details.
6/ The National Arboretum will be open for breakfast and lunch, with a special Mother's Day menu. Breakfast will be held between 9am - 11am and costs $35 per person, which includes tea, coffee or juice. 9/ Monster Kitchen & Bar in the NewActon precinct will be having an ethical, vegetarian lunch at a cost of $85 per person, which includes Billecart Salmon Champagne on arrival and a gift for Mum by Wiluna.
