Melbourne Cup Day is always a fun day, no matter where you go. If you can't make it to Royal Randwick Race Course why not celebrate close to home. Check out my selection for venues on the Northern Beaches.
1. The Collaroy Enjoy beachfront bliss and sea breezes and a 3 Course lunch with a glass on Moet on arrival. Best dressed prizes and live music. You might even want to pack your swimmers to cool off at the beach after the festivities. Click here for my review on the Hotel.
2. Stella Blu - Dee Why Beach Beachside dining at one of the Northern beaches favourite Italian restaurants. Enjoy either 2 courses for $59 or 3 courses for $69. Both options include a glass of Prosecco or a Peroni Beer. Live music will be on after the race.

3. Manly 16ft Skiff Club One of Manly's favourite waterfront clubs offering superb views over Manly Cove and up Sydney Harbour. Enjoy a superb seafood buffet, including a glass of Chandon on arrival. $100 Members, $110 Non-Members. This venue books out early, if you miss out, put it in your diary for next year.
5. Daniel San - Manly Beachfront
This quirky fun beachfront restaurant and bar will be popular this Melbourne Cup Day. A great location overlooking Manly Beach with the fresh sea breeze to cool you off. You can choose a seated 2-course feast for $99 per person including a glass of Moet upon arrival. There is also the option of celebrating at the rooftop Dojo bar offering a standup cocktail affair for $80 per person featuring an antipasto station, deluxe canape package and an optional beverage package upgrade. Big screens will be on throughout for viewing the race and sweepstakes will be available.
