Adelaide will be showcasing a wide range of events this May. There will be something for all interests, ages and budgets to enjoy.

The list below features both free & ticketed events across Adelaide and surrounds:

1. The History Festival
When: 28 April 2018-31 May 2018
Where: Various locations across Adelaide
Cost: Free & Ticketed events
Details: The History Festival is a celebration of South Australia's history and it will feature a month-long of entertaining events for all interests, including talks, tours, walks, workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, performances, shows and much more. Click here for the website.



2. Playing with Fire
When: 2 May 2018
Where: King William St, Adelaide
Cost: Tickets range from $30-$55pp
Details: This concert will feature Guy Noble as he takes you on a journey through music. Playing with Fire precedes music in human evolutionary terms and its fundamental role is creating and destroying life in rituals and celebrations, expressed through music. Click here for the website.



3. Bowerbird Design Market
When: 4-6 May 2018: 4th: 4-9pm & 5-6th: 10am-5pm
Where: Adelaide Showgrounds, Goodwood Rd, Wayville
Cost: Adults: $5pp & Children: Free
Details: These Markets will showcase work by more than 170 innovative Australian artists and designers with collections across furniture, lighting, homewares, clothing, accessories, stationery, artwork and much more. 4. Sense and Sensibility Performance
When: 4-26 May 2018
Where: Festival Drive, Adelaide
Cost: Tickets from $29pp
Details: Presented by State Theatre Company this event by Kate Hamill based on the novel by Jane Austen. The theatrical performance is based on the newly widowed Mrs. Dashwood, under Elinor, the wild romantic Marianne and the spirited Margaret, from their grand family home to a modest cottage. 5. Night Lab
When: 4 May 2018: 6pm-10pm
Where: South Australian Museum, North Terrace, Adelaide
Cost: $35pp or $25pp for museum members.
Details: This 18yrs only event will feature an evening of science, art, culture and dinosaurs. There will be plenty of entertainment with a range of dino-inspired activities, exhibitions, talks, scavenger hunt, food and drinks, and much more. Click here for the website.



6. Dreams in the Dusk- Evening Concert Series
When: 5 May 2018
Where: Elder Hall, North Terrace, Adelaide
Cost: Tickets range from $19.50-$30pp
Details: This Concert will feature the Elder Conservatorium Wind Orchestra and the Band of the South Australia Police team. Together they will present a program which will include works by Wagner, John Mackey, Biedenbender, and Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. Click here for the website.

7. Adelaide Crows v. Carlton
When: 5 May 2018: From 7:10pm
Where: Adelaide Oval, War Memorial Drive, North Adelaide
Cost: Tickets range from $5-$44pp
Details: Be there live as the Crows take on Carlton in a blockbuster Saturday game. The Crows are one of the best teams to watch in the AFL with close to a full house cheering them on at Adelaide Oval at each home game! Click here for the website.

8. Adelaide Gaol History Day
When: 6 May 2018: 10am-4pm
Where: 18 Gaol Rd, Thebarton
Cost: $5pp & kids under 4yrs free.
Details: This event will feature an exhibition of never before displayed mug shots accompanied by letters of confession, newspaper articles and execution notices. 9. Pride & Prejudice Special Screening

Where: Capri Theatre, 141 Goodwood Rd, Goodwood

Details: This event will celebrate Emma Knights Productions upcoming Jane Austen themed events, A Day With Jane and the musical I Love You Because. 11. Into My Arms Exhibition
When: 11 May 2018- 7 July 2018
Where: Lion Arts Centre, North Terrance (West End), Adelaide
Cost: Free

13. The Hologram Australian Tour
When: 13 May 2018
Where: Adelaide Entertainment Centre, 98 Port Rd, Hindmarsh

Details: Australia will host Roy Orbison for the first time since his 1972 tour in Australia's first-ever hologram concert tour. Orbison will be performing his greatest hits, accompanied on stage by a full symphony orchestra and live band. Click here for the website.



14. A Day with Jane

22. Stadium Stomp Adelaide

29. Adelaide Marathon Festival

31. Anh Do: The Happiest Refugee
When: 31 May 2018 & 1 June 2018: From 8pm
Where: Dunstan Playhouse, Festival Drive, Adelaide

Details: Anh Do travelled to Australia in 1980 on an eight-metre fishing boat with 47 other Vietnamese refugees.
