Get in early and buy your Christmas presents
Why not start your Christmas shopping as soon as possible and take some of the stress out of last minute shopping.

From this list, you will be able to buy gifts, home-baked food, artisan products and quirky items. You have a good chance of finding an exclusive present for that someone special this Christmas!

Christmas comes but once a year, as the saying goes, and these markets are ideal for buying a varied choice of Christmas goods of all types.

When: 4th November and 2nd December, from 9 am to 2 pm
Where: Hamilton & Aitken Streets, Gisbourne

These great markets will have over 250 stalls offering a large range of products. These include handmade items, arts and crafts, clothing, accessories, jewellery, books, plants, fresh flowers, fresh produce, food and wine.

There will also be entertainment for children and products for your pets. The range of food is vast, coffee is good and you can also snack at the local cafes and wineries after the market.

Date: 17th November, 2018, from 9 am to 2 pm
Where: Emu Plains Reserve, Coolart Rd, Balnarring

They will have their best vendors on for this market as it will be the main Christmas one! There will be over 200 stalls in attendance, with creators/makers at this unique market.

For the children, there will be face painting and Faery Emma to name but a few. Children will also have the great park in the middle of the market to play in, as well as jumping castles for all ages.

There will also be live music which will continue for the whole day! They do have ATM facilities here, however, bring $4 as that is the cost of parking.

Where: 288 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy (upstairs)

Lost & Found Market is a vintage market which is open most of the week. Here there are about 40 stallholders selling vintage furniture, industrial, lighting, art, fashion, books, musical instruments, records, kitchenalia and bric-a-brac.

Come here for those who like vintage things and collectable and retro items. A great place to do your Christmas shopping for that someone special!

When: 24th and 25th November, from 11 am to 4 pm
Where: Beaumaris Community Centre, Library Precinct, 90 Reserve Road, Beaumaris

This is the Beaumaris Victorian Christmas market for a full weekend of Christmas shopping. You will be able to buy heaps of great gifts and you can see the full list of vendors at their Facebook page.

There will also be good food, children's activities and more!

When: 7th December, from 5 pm to 9 pm
Where: Pleasant Street Primary School, Lake Wendouree

This is a fest as well as a Christmas market, and there will be activities such as Santa's Cave, showbags and rides. It will be a huge market and will be the perfect way for you to get your Christmas shopping done in one go!

When: 16th December, from 8 am to 2 pm
Where: Bass Highway, Grantville

Grantville Christmas market will have some great stallholders selling their unique gifts, handcrafts, homewares, art, jewellery, artisan stalls. As it is a small community, you are sure to get some unique items here.

There will also be an array of gourmet food, food trucks, live entertainment and more.

When: 30th November, from 5 pm to 9 pm
Where: 96 Barkly Street, Fitzroy North

These markets will be followed by bilingual Carols by Candlelight at 9 pm. Buy gifts and eat some bratwurst, sauerkraut and hot or iced Gluhwein.

When: 24th November, 1st and 8th December, from 10 am to 4 pm
Where: 100 St Kilda Road, Melbourne

These markets will have exclusive local designers and artisans. It will be an ideal place if you want unique, beautiful items this Christmas. There will be jewellery, soaps, scarves, candles, woodcraft, leather goods, clothing, paintings and more. Great ideas for under that Christmas tree!

Where: Federation Square, Cnr Flinders and Swanston Streets

There will be a good selection of makers and designers here that will offer you exclusive gifts for Christmas. There will be jewellery & fashion designers, illustrators and artists. There will also be healings and psychic readings throughout the day.

When: 2nd December, from 10 am to 4 pm
Where: 41-59 Sims St, West Melbourne

Here you can support local artisans while shopping and talking to the makers at this Christmas market. There will be jewellery, ceramics, artworks, textile items, cards, photos and a wide selection of handmade artisan products.

When: 11th November, from 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Federation Square

This will be a huge day of shopping for those Christmas gifts. There will be local artisans and there will also be great food available. Stay a while and listen to live music, have bubbles on tap at a Prosecco van and see some of the best artisans in Melbourne. You will find art, ceramics, fashion, accessories, homewares, drawings, body products, health and vegan items.

I was surprised to hear about the Beaumaris Christmas market, having grown up there, and never hearing about it. Following the link reveals that this market is In Beaumaris in the UK, not Australia. Also, no mention was made on this list of the Swedish/Scandinavian Christmas markets in Toorak. They are amazing.

Thankyou for all the great market events. .You forgot to mention SCANDINAVIAN BAZAAR, annually at 21 St Georges st. Toorak. Sat. November 31 st and Sunday 1st . Culture, food and lots of Nordic stalls. Kiersten
