Are you looking for a new way to get moving? Dancing is such a fun and fabulous way to exercise. Gym bunnies, I'm sorry but I just can't keep it up. Good on you, please keep going. For the rest of us, there are adult dance schools in the Lower North Shore offering evening classes.
1. Crows Nest Dance Centre
At a cool
$20 per class, the Crows Nest Dance Centre offers a free class (excluding their 8-week beginners salsa class).
Dance styles include ballroom/latin dancing, solo latin, salsa, jazz, bounce dance fit, hip hop, zumba and bachata. They also offer corporate dance classes and private wedding lessons. The
timetable has a diverse range of evening classes for adults.
2. L.I.K.E. Dance
Located on Herbert Street at St Leonards, L.I.K.E. Dance boasts a number of styles including jazz, hip-hop, contemporary dance, modern and technical classes. Adult classes are on in the evenings, check out their
timetable.
There is also an
attractive offer at L.I.K.E. dance where if you take a friend with you for an introductory class, you can win a month of unlimited free classes.
L.I.K.E. Dance don't have a really obvious place on their website (or perhaps I was simply unable to find it) that showed the fees, but they do say that the cost is calculated based on the number of classes attended per week. The more classes you attend, the less it costs. They have a more detailed
Google Docs timetable as well as their
site timetable.

3. Arthur Murray Chatswood
Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Chatswood is not far from Chatswood Station, opposite CBA and Westfield Chatswood. Arthur Murray Chatswood teaches a tonne of different ballroom dancing styles. From the Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing Dance, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Argentine Tango, Bachata, Bolero, Hustle, Jive, Lindy Hop, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Samba, Viennese and West Coast Swing.
Although this school appears to be quite specialised, it presently has no obvious website timetable or cost. However, you can
contact them if you are interested. Arthur Murray has a full blown curriculum of many levels, starting from introductory and moving all the way to gold. Gold is described as essentially having a doctorate degree in dance.
4. Sydney Salsa Sabor
Sydney Salsa Sabor actually has more than one location, but one of them is in St Leonards. Latin dance classes are the specialty at Sydney Salsa Sabor.
Prices start at just twenty dollars a week for beginners.
The
timetable is readily available online and it includes salsa, bachata and body movements classes. Sydney Salsa Sabor also offers private dance lessons. Don't live in the North Shore? That's fine, Sydney Salsa Sabor also has a Marrickville studio. Also, you don't need a partner to go to classes there.

5. Studio Tibor
Studio Tibor has a casual
adult ballet dance class, at just $22 a pop. Studio Tibor also has ten class passes for $187, or just $18.70 per class. Studio Tibor is located only a few minutes from St Leonards station. The
schedule has lunchtime and evening classes.
Hopefully, this list has been useful for you. I know I certainly want to get moving, especially given the deals and offers some of these places are offering. In that sense, kids are so lucky because it seems like almost every dance school has classes for kids but quality adult classes are more difficult to find. Good luck reaching your groove.
