Well, Sydney, the start of autumn is here, and there is still some fun activities that will keep your little one's entertained. There is no excuse not to be bored in March as there is plenty going on to keep us going until the Easter bunny arrives. These activities are presented in date order, not necessarily in order of preference.
1. Kids Day Out Festival
Presented by Target, this event is back on once more at Sydney Olympic Park. The event organisers promise a bigger line up than ever with over 34 kids performances as well as indoor rides and family picnic areas. Do your children like playing the Xbox? That opportunity presents itself on the Kids Day Out, plus Sesame Street favourites, such as Elmo and Cookie Monster, and The Bananas in Pyjamas will be performing as well. Certain NRL footy players will also be available to meet and greet. Your kids can also get their faces painted. Their ever so colourful and vibrant website has more information. This will be one amazing day out for the family.
2. Babies Proms: Meeting Mozart
The Sydney Opera House have initiated a line of up kids entertainment called Babies Proms. The rationale behind this event is to orient kids ages 2-5 to the world of live performances. Tickets start from $25, and extra savings are available with a family value pack. The world of classical music awaits with Mozart performances for children's songs such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Pianist Simon Tedeschi will take to the stage on from the 6th to the 17th of March 2013. Further information can be found by clicking here.
3. Ingleburn Alive
For those families who live out in Sydney's West, the streets of Ingleburn will be buzzing alive with rides and free entertainment for the whole family. Street stalls, camel and pony rides also feature as part of this event. Different worldly dance acts will also entertain people, and the event will end with fireworks in Milton Park. Most of the festivities will take place on Oxford Road. Peppa Pig will also make an appearance. Further information will be available on the Visit Macarthur website closer to the event date.
4. Camden Show
A little further out west, Camden (near Campbelltown) is putting on a show similar to the above kid friendly event for March 2013. Rides, amusements and fireworks are the main events. Families will also get to enjoy the farm discovery trail and camel races. Animal competitions will also be on. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.
A great family friendly event held at the Maritime Museum from the 16th of March to the 14th of July 2013. An educational and fun way to help kids appreciate the efforts involved in land, sea and air rescues. A chance to navigate a jet ski to find a swimmer stuck in sea to taking control of a full sized helicopter. Fully interactive.
6. Sydney Royal Easter Show
On again at the Sydney Showgrounds at Sydney Olympic Park. Explore pets being judged. There are ample rides, food and other amusement activities. Nightly fireworks and the showbags are the star attractions to this event that has been around since 1923. 7. Sydney Family Show 2013
