Dedicated to all the parents of Sydney, following on from the top Kid Friendly Sydney Events in May, the official opening month of winter will help you and your kids shake off the winter blues. Even better, the festivities of Vivid Sydney are still continuing into June, and furthermore there are some new, fun events ready and open for the taking.
With Vivid Sydney, keep your eyes out for an animated event that is all about creating kids cartoon characters in June 2013. Even if you happen to stumble across this article, and you're not a parent per se, and perhaps you have an interest in creating an animated children's cartoon series, then this segment of Vivid Sydney will be right up your alley. Worth checking out. As always these events are more so presented in date order as opposed to an order of preference:
1. Toy and Game Expo
This is set to be an amazing family day out. Held at the home of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Toy and Game Expo will not only feature toys, yet many other fun filled activities for the kids of Sydney. Some of the toys featured at this event include Blingles, Bopalong Buddies and an EzyRoller. Otherwise there are plenty of games to play. Such games include a Fistful of Penguins, Age of Industry, Claim It! and Catch the Match to only name a few. There are a number of hobbies on show as well, including the iconic LEGO. Massive LEFO displays will be prominent. Speaking of LEGO, some hands on LEGO action will be available at the LEGO play pit. Also, for those kids who love the stickier version of toys, a Play-Doh play pit will also be available. Not to mention My Little Pony. Parents, something would be wrong if your kids were bored here. Purchase tickets online, and a 25% saving is enjoyed. Open on the Queens Birthday long weekend. Further information, together with a list of exhibitors can be found on the events website.
2. Slava's Snowshow
Some winter fun. This iconic show is coming to Sydney. Quirky acts where a woman wrapped in cellophane becomes a flower in a vase. Coming to Sydney.
3. Bondi Winter Festival Ice Rink
Some action to keep the kids of Sydney entertained to see out a fairly busy month otherwise. As part of the winter magic festival, go ice skating in the "largest outdoor ice rink" in the Southern Hemisphere. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.
Here's to a great, fun filled June and watch this space for July.
